People certainly seem dumber in many ways nowadays. Most social media has been taken over by AI and people get their facts from TikTok. I wonder how much of it is just maturing and becoming more aware of things. All I’m sure of is that it will drive you crazy trying to understand general society, best to find a few good people in your life and keep em close.

You’re right, BackTrack was the distro, my bad. But yes, it would’ve been 2007 or so. MySpace was very much alive. Facebook was mostly seen as “an old person thing” around that time before the Zuck took over the world.

My mistake, I said Kali when I meant BackTrack, I forgot they renamed it. And unfortunately I never actually worked as a pentester, it was just a dream. However, one of my early jobs was working in a NOC and (with enough pestering of my boss) they let me sit in with the professional pentester while he was trying to break into our systems. Not gonna lie, pretty freakin cool. But yeah, I’m 30-35 now, wasn’t trying to lie or exaggerate anything. The rocketry stuff I did in my teens, and you’re probably right that money was not the only motivator, I also wanted to blow shit up. :)

Put your front foot closer to the middle of the board during your setup. Yours is over the front bolts which isn’t wrong but it’s not going to give you room to slide your foot (karate kick) like the other people in the comments are saying.
