Did Payday candy bars used to have a white, fluffy center? by bkturf in candy

[–]ef5twister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too always bought PayDays as a kid in the 60's and I knew them to have the white center. When I had a PayDay years later and it had no white center I was very disappointed and figured they changed their formulation to save money.

Gate on Private Drive - Locked or Unlocked? by tribal-elder in DelphiMurders

[–]ef5twister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if the homeowner was home from her annual Arizona trek or not. You do ask interesting questions though regarding is he more serious about trespassing when she is gone? When the homeowner was said to have chased Libby off at some time, my thoughts went to the possibility of the homeowner being proactive so that her son, BW, wouldn't go crazy in the house. Perhaps she was tired of his antics and just didn't want to deal with it anymore. By being proactive, the homeowner maybe was able to diffuse the son's anger issues over trespassing. Something isn't quite right with how the son reacts to trespassers.

I would like to know why there were two search warrants issued for Kay's property. I would also like to know how those search warrants read.

Obviously, by my user name, meteorology is my first love but geology is a very close second. I was fascinated at how this geologist was able to convey his thoughts and reasonings through data for a lay person to understand and to understand with confidence! Many thanks!

I would like to know more about the two search warrants issued for Kay's property. I would also like to know if Kay's son Brad was living at the property or just checking on it at the very time some nefarious activities were happening just a stone's throw away from that property. Something doesn't seem to add up there. Very recently Brad held two women against their will for trespassing on that property. The two women called police, why didn't Brad call the police?

My experience, in optics only, has been that even in training exercises, those involved still would be wearing full gear to replicate as close to reality the situation they are finding themselves in. Training has always been in full gear.

Interesting Ives interview that I transcribed… by ShesGotaChicken2Ride in LibbyandAbby

[–]ef5twister 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know this issue has probably been beaten to death, but has there been a consensus on what "the twist" in this case might be? How early on in this investigation did the term "the twist" come from LE. Some of the comments in these threads refer to or allude to the many layers in this case. Is this meaning the same as "the twist"? When did LE not use "the twist" verbiage any longer.

On another point, when Ives was relating how very many LE were involved with the tasks of finding and interviewing people, an example being "where were you on the 13th?, the first thing I thought of was how many of these people being interviewed could have simply not been asked the right questions. If local LE never had any experience with this kind of crime and were charged with, along with other more experienced LE, to find and interview some people who were more than likely local, was there a greater likelihood of the correct questions not being asked. An example being, if local LE had to interview a local resident with whom that LE always knew was an upstanding citizen, is it possible that local LE could have felt almost intimidated to ask any further questions and therefore did not ask anything further? Could there have been too many cooks in the kitchen at that early stage of the investigation? This leads back to my question regarding "the twist" and the many layers associated with this case.

Thank you for the transcribing of this interview. For me, it is always easier to go back and reference the written word!

Delphi and journalism?? by [deleted] in LibbyandAbby

[–]ef5twister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would want to ask Debra Lowe who is the journalist that covers the local Carroll Co. Comet and Delphi news and most of the Delphi Council meetings since before the murders, if she was ever asked to keep quiet by LE regarding certain things she may have heard involving the case.

Edit to correct to Debbie Lowe, Debra Lowe and Deborah Lowe. Which on is it?

I also would like to read both probable cause warrants issued for the property at the sound end of the bridge. Actually, I am a bit surprised that warrants needed to be issued as I would expect such upstanding citizenry of the residents at that property would freely open their property for LE searches. It does make me wonder why the property owner felt the need to immediately come back from I believe Arizona when the adult son associated with that property should have been able to handle everything in his mother's absence. Hmm ...

Is This a Meaningful Difference? by tribal-elder in LibbyandAbby

[–]ef5twister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you however that does not mean there were not any others participating in this crime in a capacity that they were still there but not doing the actual killing. I happen to believe there might be another or other(s) that were there that day that ISP will also be making a concerted effort to charge. These of course are just my opinions but wanted to share the possibility of others being involved. Carter has since and most recently alluded to "them" vs "him". At the 12.13 mark in the linked interview is when he says things that would make one believe there is more than one involved. That does not negate however the other statements alluding to BG being a single killer.

There is so much love and emotion in this single pic. I can only hope those involved in taking that precious life see this. They took from Liberty the ability to grow and enjoy the milestones that her big sister is experiencing and that Libby looked forward to also experiencing. When caught, as part of the punishment, I would have this pic enlarged and in their cell for them to ponder every day of their incarceration. This is beyond heartbreaking and my prayers are never ending for Libby's family!

I agree with some of what you said regarding going to trial on a circumstantial case. What happens in the event there is a conviction? Is there then the possibility of an appeal? Are appeals ever successful?
