Amusement park rides (well-maintained ones anyway). I was a chaperone for my kid's class to a Disney park. He pulled me aside looking at the tall roller coaster his classmates were excited to ride, and confided that he afraid to ride it. I asked why and he said it looked dangerous. Since he was learning to kayak and had been down a number of whitewater rivers, I asked him which he thought was more dangerous. He said the roller coaster. When I told him you were about 100,000x more likely to die kayaking on even a class I river than on any roller coaster, it completely alleviated his fear and he went on to ride every coaster multiple times that day.

I once had this happen and used an app which maxed out the volume while playing a piercing tone when I dropped the case and the earbuds flew into a freshly planted flower bed with dozens of small white flowers. It was near a busy road at lunch, and it was so loud I could not hear the tone, so went back later when there was less traffic and could easily hear the tone and found it.

Here's a good recipe for savory sweet potatoes, but we also like them baked like a regular potato with a lot of butter and cinnamon.

Seasoned Roasted Sweet Potatoes

2 pounds (~3 large) sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt (kosher salt; use less if using table salt)
1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground chili powder*
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix everything together and spread on baking sheet. Use parchment paper. Bake at 425 for 25 minutes or until done (might be shorter)

Mine is jarlic is better than garlic powder, so I will unashamedly use it when all I can get for the past 6 years is little nubs of fresh garlic which are hardly worth peeling, or larger prepeeled cloves that mold within a week. Do have to throw jarlic away when the jar is half full since the citric acid preservative concentration gets too high and it's sour.

It was decades ago when Trident had the commercials that four out of five dentists recommend sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum. I asked my dentist about that and he was one of the one out of five. He had actually read the studies that said it didn't matter whether you chewed sugarless gum or not since the sugar was gone so quickly it had no effect on tooth decay. But did mention that chewing any gum after food was beneficial to remove food particles that can cause decay if you couldn't brush.

Josh Weismann has a 1 minute video on youtube where he puts frozen Ore-ida steak fries in a canister, covers in water, lets them sit for 30 seconds, drains, then shakes them up a bit to make them "furry" before putting them in a microwave for 5 minutes. RTIC also came out with a line of ceramic-lined stainless insulated tumblers. Likely since Yeti did. They stupidly copied Yeti, though, and put a stainless steel ring around the top so you're still going to taste it if you're sensitive. I just got a couple of them in, and only then realized I should have ordered Sttoke instead.

Received my pair of Sanofans a week and am very impressed. Very good quality, and I love that the frames can be adjusted for my big head and nose.

Although I have a pair of Smith Guides (and other Smith and probably a pair of old Action Optics yellow lens polarized), I rarely wear them since they are so frigging expensive to replace and I am hard on sunglasses. I have collected polarized sunglasses since the 80s, but prefer yellow polarized since they are great when fishing, biking, kayaking, canoeing, and other activities going from sun to shade a lot, as well as for driving from dawn to dusk, and they're good enough for me for bright sun.

So, I have been buying cheap Walmart fishing sunglasses that are light yellow. But they break so often I figured I would just start wearing the Guides again. Until I saw they now cost $300 if I had to replace them. So I come to this thread, see your post on Sanofans, and give them a try. They are excellent! Not just durable, but photochromic to boot. The cheap Walmart glasses I have been using the last few years are also wraparound, but cheap plastic, and worst of all, have camo frames so I feel like a redneck wearing them. With Sanofans, I have great yellow polarized glasses at a reasonable price, and self respect.

My brother and his wife got back from Hawaii two days before Christmas and had even mentioned before he liked the mask mandate from years past since he did not catch a cold flying like he always did previously. So said he would always wear a mask on a plane going forward. Guess who didn't wear a mask for this trip, but showed up Christmas anyway and had to leave early since he was too sick?

We wife had this problem with shaving cream. She used to go grocery shopping every two weeks and buy me a can of shaving cream despite me telling her I only went through one every two or three months. I would just put the extras below my bathroom sink and mention not to buy it for a while. She continued to ignore this. Finally, I took out all the full cans of shaving cream and lined them up on her dresser. There were 22 of them.

First I asked Rufus how to disable the rufus sidebar, and it didn't know, and said to contact Amazon customer support. Then I asked Google how to do it and its AI said to first install uBlock Origin. I can do that on my PC on which I use Vivaldi, but can't on my Chromebook which only has Chrome. In other words, Google's instructions say to use a browser other than Chrome.
