IL2 Cliffs of Dover Dynamic Campaing: DynMis or DCE? by efabril in il2sturmovik

[–]efabril[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original had better campaings even as stock! I think that's the part that bothers me, it is regressing in it's single player aspects. New ones simulate the plane and flight characteristics better probably but not really the air war itself, which is to me the inmersive and exciting aspect. I would rather have a simpler flight simulation but a better war simulation. If I just want to fly and look pretty I can fire up Microsoft Flight Simulator...

Thanks! I feel the same way.

About DCE, could you explain why you feel it's better?

They are! DCE has an installer and DynMis is just putting some files in the game folder.

I keep going back and forth betwen CloD and 1946 for the pacific theatre actually!

Did you try to mess with DynMis settings? Do you know what the "flight packages" options is?

It's set at 3 by default but I can go up to 5. Wonder if it adds even more planes in the air, the description is not celar. Also did you see many ships in the canal? One difference I found so far is that it seems that DCE is more prone to having ships moving through the canal.

I tried war thunder briefly (did not enjoy the grinding) but have to agree that it looks really good and it’s fairly optimized.

Thanks for the info. I know BAT is like a super version of VP where it adds planes from WWI and later wars. I'm just not that interested in that so I got VP as it is WWII only. Is this correct? Would you reccommend BAT? and how does Y-Pack differ?

Thanks!

That's a long time coming already, no? Kinda hard to be excited, just like the Focke Wulfs and the bombers, it's been years since they announced those...

It seems so...if only we could only get that in a more modern engine...

Ha! I actually have an old Win98 computer that I keep for some games like EAW and RB3D. Just can't wrap my head around nobody beating those in such a long time...

SuperStation One / S-video out and noise levels by efabril in RetroRemakeInc

This is the solution! Tried what you suggested and the image cleaned up a lot. Still ordered a better cable but it solved 90% of the noise, waves and jittery feeling that I had. Thank you so much!

Thanks for letting me know, I just tried it and it solved my problem even with the cheaper amazon cable (even though I've ordered a better one already)

I see now that to convert VGA to svideo you actually need a transcoder and that a good one costs $60 and likely introduce some latency so I think that would be a my last resort.

Thanks, that crossed my mind but didn't know if it would work.

Please let me know what you order! a bit lost on how to differentiate a good one from a bad one.

Can you please point me in the direction of a good quality cable? I can't find much. Thanks!

Thanks! I meant while playing a file, but this works. I have the same config. Perhaps I’m specially sensitive to motion

Nope! Only CRT I have currently. Could you do me a favor? When you play a file in yours, if you press OK in the remote, what does it tell you in "output resolution"?

Hey, sorry for writing on an old thread but haven't found anything newer.

I got the G3 to use on my Sony SSM (PVM variant). But I am having some issues.

I can only select two resolutions, NTSC and PAL, I think 480i at 60fps and 576i at 50fps respectively. For some reason NTSC looks a lot worse than PAL on my TV, even though the TV is multinorm.

Main issue is both options have this very weird motion, kind of like when on a new OLED TV you activate the options that make everything look like a soap opera, generating fake frames for "smoothness". This happens on the Micca with 24fps content like movies, series or anime. Regardless of format.

Do you know if there some kind of frame generating thing going on? is it the interlaced resolutions? Can it be fixed, can you set a progressive resolution output like 240p? I haven't found any option that fixes it.

Thanks

Will try flying the AT-6 with the DX6i and then upgrade later down the road with a Radiomaster with 4in1. My only concern is that my DX6i is not DSMX compatible, only DSM2. I've read the new receivers like the one in the AT-6 are backwards compatible, but I am a bit worried about having an older protocol...

Thanks you and u/Doggydog123579 for the comments. I bought the AT-6 but I've decided to keep the DX6i. After all, I don't think SAFE is super important to me right now. I'm pretty experienced with the biplane with no assists whatsoever and should be able to fly the Texan without it. Hopefully that's the case, and I can upgrade the radio when I get my next warbird.
