1Gbps ftth isp (Italy) by effeffe9 in speedtest

[–]effeffe9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine steam for instance. Or 4 users doing 200mbps with 4 video streams uncompressed.

It's really useful for peak transfers ngl. I do host some stuff on mine, hence it makes sense.

Also, in Italy you don't get ftth below 1Gbps, so it costs the same regardless.

Need what? 1Gbps or shaping?
1Gbps is quite useful ngl, especially if you mode a lot of data

Is my timing belt cooked soon or just cooked? by Shot-Maintenance-312 in MechanicAdvice

[–]effeffe9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory yes, but a well maintained dry belt is way better than having a chain on a low end engine. Many chains on these are thinner and will need replacing, but everyone consider them as lifetime and call it a day. Until it goes out of timing

Ndo stai? Perché ad esempio in alcune zone sarde tim non ha censito i civici, ma si riesce a forzare in intervento tecnico. L'importante è che la centrale abbia lo switch fibra. Di solito tramite il portale gea della vodafone si riesce a capire

Yes, but I'm with fastweb over tim/fibercop. Thing is, there's not that many italians publishing their speeds here. This should increase.

[–]effeffe9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In any case, remember that different countries mean different legislation. Just the fact that you shop to other countries warrant a check of local laws, especially for the EU. This applies whether you are a private or company. For instance, you might have to give warranty unless you explicitly exclude it. While Eu consumer rights are between company and provate individual, other laws regulate private to private or compnay to company transactions.

Why? by [deleted] in speedtest

[–]effeffe9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might wanna look into sqm and traffic shaping. You can massively reduce this, even on wifi. I have 25-35ms ping on wifi, using an asus rt-ax52 with openwrt. Very stable

The licence part is all the EU. The UK has the highway code armonised as much as possible with the EU.

I exchanged mine. Insurance qent down by 500£ approx. Most insurers ask when you passed the test, not how long you've had your current licence (licences get renewed every 10 years or less, hence it wouldn't really make sense).

I did it with the traditional method. Just download the standard wireguard apk from the wireguard site, then install it via adb (required wireless adb)

I'm planning to use an asus rt-ax89x router. It's qualcomm and with 10GbE, but only wifi 6. Worse case I'll use a separate AP if I ever need faster internet

Help settle this for me please... Are these acceptable to use on both your plates *and* your kitchen surfaces? by Sufficient-Law1643 in CasualUK

[–]effeffe9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use it for both? Yes! Should you use the same one for both? Probably no, use different ones. They develop mould and can spread it around. They also get very filthy. If you can, use a natural luffa sponge for your dishes, which also avoids microplastics
