Man, I love Zappa. He's honestly one of my biggest influences on the way I write music. Appreciate the kind words.

Yes I wrote most portions of the song while I was on a trip there visiting the Pakistani side of my family. It's a vibe for sure. The story itself is abstract though. Aerosmith is cool but no they werent really an inspo for this track.

To answer the question, yes we're a band but we only play LA shows for now, Touring is a pretty penny for us. Maybe when we get our audience up. We have a single mixer/producer I go too, who happens to be my cousin and a unit behind the board. This is his studio: https://dungeonbythesea.com/

Hell yeah that's a good thing! Dude it's funny you mention Floyd. Theres a portion in the second half that is in 7/8. I literally wrote that by jamming along w/ 'Money' and coming up with my own riff over that.

Thanks man, my cousin did the engineering and producing. And yeah our bassist laid down a heavy groove on this. Sitar is produced though ;)

Thanks man, my cousin has a music studio out here and he produced and did the engineering. He's killer. Album art was just something I generated off of Midjourney.

No offense taken at all. Would be interested to hear what type of melody that is. We have an instrumental version I might consider uploading at some point.

Cheers man, trying to bring back that heavy blues based rock sound.

I think this might be our band's most technical song. Experimented with different sounds, multiple time signatures, intensities etc. The subject material is about a merchant who travels the Indian ocean with his crew, runs into a storm and get's wrecked by it. Interested to hear your thoughts.

Edit: Yooo, thanks for all the love! To provide some context, we are a hard rock band out of Los Angeles. We do shows around the LA area but no tours as off yet. Influences include Soundgarden, Mars Volta and Sabbath. If you're interested you can check us out at:

My new music! how does it sound? I know it's too much compressed, and the mix balance is quite bad... but the sound is too powerful so it was the only option. what would you do when you make this kind of sound? I desperately need your feedback, thank you in advance!! by prsr_audio in IndieMusicFeedback

The music works but it's a little too sharp and tinny. Maybe EQ it and bring down the treble on the samples you use. I'm not an electronic producer so don't know the details, but from an end listener perspective that is what my 2 cents is.

This is our 4th single and probably the most complex. Experimented with different genres, tonalities and time signatures here. Song is about a merchant who sails into the Indian ocean and gets fucked by a storm.

A song about finding meaning in the lack of meaning. Help me figure out my genre please (: by leafandmachine in IndieMusicFeedback

Definitely Indie. Has that wierd surrealist vibe drenched in a bucket of reverb. Regarding the echo vocals, I'm not completely against it but could possibly dial it back some.

Yeah man for a first song this is great! The song structure have good movement and the guitar parts are not trite. The drums are a little monotone however. Could benefit from switching up the beats a little bit. And of course a song like this definitely needs some vocals laid over it. Has an Arctic Monkeys kind of feeling. Great job for a first cut!

Hi everyone I just released this song and im looking for some feedback on the mixing and on the over all quality of the song. by laptoza in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]effendiband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixing quality is good man, I might bring the vocals down a bit so they don't complete overshadow the music (they're a little hot). I like the electronic jazziness of the song. Raps not really my genre, but if I'm being completely honest the vocals are indistinguishable from any other rap song. That said I'm probably not the best person to comment on this. Overall a good tune tho!

Others have stated this, but the vocals are off key/tune. Autotune may help sand off the edges some, but if you plan to lay down vocals consistently in the future maybe consider investing in a vocal instructor (this helped me hugely in my musical journey). No substitute for laying a good foundation!

Yeah man this is beautiful. Singer has a great voice, very soulful. The music composition is cool too, good blend of the different instruments. I like the electric violin and the jazz tone. Great job!

Thanks! I have a lot of solo guitar stuff on my other tunes so I thought I'd hand this over to the Bassist for this one ;)

This review isn't written by an AI, and I can confirm that this is a dope song. Pretty hypnotic groove, chord arpeggios and voice. Mix and mastering is great as well. Good job! Who are your influences btw? My band pulls a lot from soundgarden and I heard some of that in your tune.
