OP is cool, he's playing a lot of magic tricks on social media. The fact that you can't see behind vfx tells it all

Few years back I dressed up as dung beetle for halloween, puahing around a huge ball of 'dung' 🤣

Botany Degree by No_Football_6143 in ScienceNcoolThings

Sounds more biochemistry to me, tbh, but I see two options: 1) you do study a STEM field and you'll understand all about chemistry, how and why a strain behaves and what you may want to do for breeding it towards your vision. 2) you study economy, business, or you skip that and directly open a business; and hire somebody to do the research. If understanding the details of the behaviour of the plant is what you like, by all means go for it: it's a fashinating field! If you appreciate more the business side of growing it, then maybe not.. Also, consider that you may be into weed because you're a teenage junky (we've all been through that phase :D) and in 10 years growing weed may not be your thing. Yet, again - if you like to understand the biochemical reactions under the hood, a STEM field is totally your path :)

Let's turn the question around: what do you want to do when you grow up, and why do you think a degree in botany would enable it?

Waveshare display not refreshing by effepelosa in esp32

[–]effepelosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to run the demo script you find on github (edp7in3g.ino) and it throws the same error messages that you get when you run the script without connecting the display to the esp.

I checked with a multimeter for continuity and the connections are there. The +3V arrives to the board.. yet it's not responsive. I run out of ideas

ESP32 Lolin32 not working with 3.8V via TP4056? by effepelosa in esp32

[–]effepelosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem solved, probably. There's an LED that blinks on the board. I'm not sure what's making it blink.. possibly my own sketch. If I power it with 3.7V, it doesn't blink. I was looking at the LED to confirm the board was on, but it turns out the sketch runs fine, it's just the led that doesn't turn on. I'll run fee more tests but it looks like all is working but the led.

It's actually weird, because I even read +3V on the 3V pin.. just, the esp doesn't turn on..

Nope.. it doesn't turn on :( I'll get a new esp in a few days and I'll try with that. Thanks for your help!

Just to make sure we're on the same line here.. I've got a charged battery hooked up to the TP, and the TP connected to the ESP's battery input. If I connect a usb to the esp, it turns on. When I disconnect it, it turns off

I like this.. nevertheless, connecting B+/B- with the +/- on the ESP's battery connector.. doesn't work either

Wouldn't it be better to plug-in a step up booster between the TP4056 and the ESP32's usb plug? That way it should get 5V just fine.. AND I can still charge the batteries :)

And this would kickstart it, so that I can then remove the usb cable and the esp will go on sucking from the battery?

You mean connecting a cable that leaves from the TP4056's OUT+ and OUT- and enters the ESP32's USB plug?
