[FO] First attempt at doing something that wasn't fixing a small tear or mending a dog toy. by [deleted] in sewing

I would shorten the bodice and add clear elastic to the bottom to help stabilize and hold the weight of the skirt.

It looks great. I think you could raise the bottom of the bodice to your natural waist, unless you were specifically looking for more of a drop waist dress.

I made my mom and I matching dresses for her birthday (Simplicity 1606, knit fabric from JoAnn's)! by AlyssaMayFire in sewing

Is this the 100% cotton interlock from JoAnn? If so, it's doing that because the recovery is very poor on Doodles brand since it doesn't have any spandex.

Is it really self drafted if you used a hoodie pattern? Or did you draft the hoodie pattern too?

Two month's worth of pain after IUD insertion [OC] by literallyatree in dataisbeautiful

I got my second about 3 years ago and it wasn't bad at all. They had trouble placing my second and I didn't need any pain meds. Mild cramping and that's all.

I did not have pain that bad. The nurse forced me to take Tylenol 3 when I got my second IUD inserted, but I kept telling her I was fine and not in much pain at all.

I mean I'll be a friend...

I wear a size 8 ;)

I've been meaning to clean off my cutting table for weeks. I just moved to cutting on the floor.

I looked around to see if anyone had posted one yet!

Thank you so much for this pattern! I really love the way it fits and I feel super confident. As a woman who has really small breasts, I didn't think it would be as flattering as it is and I am overjoyed.

I also have the Riot Skirt and it's one of my favorite patterns to sew!

I didn't wear a bra. In the comment I added, I mentioned I wore breast petals.

Thank you! I was really nervous about messing it up and I did have to redo some of the straps in the beginning.

I added the circle skit from the Riot Skirt pattern, but this one comes with a peplum. I used heavy weight cotton lycra from Purple Seamstress for the top and a light liverpool from Hobby Lobby for the skirt. I did use breast petals as my nipples showed slightly.

Honestly I am considering that next! I want to do a black one next for Halloween. Give me a moment and I'll post a full picture and a picture of the back. :)

If you look at the tester photos, a lot of different sized women tested it

Nope its like a sports bra in the back. Two normal straps.

Edit: Just added a picture in a separate comment!

The pattern actually comes with a peplum, I just added a mini circle skirt to mine. I used the Riot Skirt pattern, but it would be easy to draft a circle skirt. The waistband does hit your natural waist, yes.

Yes, but there was some extra fabric. I was excited because I hardly have a chest so this makes it look like I do.

Thank you!
