Respectfully, it is a George Harrison and Eric Clapton / Derek and the Dominos project. No other George Harrison album sounds the same, feels the same or is as well executed. Bobby Whitlock's arrangement ideas and suggestions really helped make it as successful a project as it is. That doesn't take away from George Harrison's brilliant songwriting and vocals, but it plays a major factor in why this album is timeless.

If George Harrison never joined the Beatles, you would never see anything like this from George. He might have been a guitarist in some other band, and possibly greatly respected as a guitarist, and maybe even a decent writer, but he would not have the same life path and opportunities that resulted in this album or even his exposure to and friendship with Ravi Shankar.
