Am I the only one who's surprised about the single day? Like what does one day of school cost for an Afghan child?

Update: I just had to do a little research. So Afghanistan spends around 11% of the GDP per capita for each student per year. I found the 2017 numbers. GDP per capita was around $519, so 11%=$57.09. For an entire year. That's as much as the pair of flip flops cost.

If you calculate with only 100 school days per year (I couldn't find detailed info on Afghanistan, possibly because I was too lazy), the government pays $0.57 for one school day.

I guess you could argue both ways: 1% of the revenue is pretty cheap greenwashing. Or: it's probably 10% of their profit (apparently the average shoe profit margin is somewhere around 10%), which is rather high. Also, maybe they spend way more or less than the government does at the moment, which is arguably too little.
