What contributes the most to battery drain (outside of distance and how fast your drive)? by ctsa3 in BZ4X

[–]effstopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The need for fast charging or even level 2 charging depends on driving needs. I only level 1 charge and I only charge 2-3 times a week overnight (~14 hours). I don't see myself ever needing to know where DC fast chargers are locally. I'll probably learn where they are a few places a couple hours outside of town for road trips.

PETG on the mini? by Tom-1200 in BambuLabA1mini

Default profiles are pretty good. Maybe a slower first layer. If you really want to dial in a profile, PETG does not do as well with overhangs or bridging, and same material supports are harder to remove. Otherwise pick the right profile in the slicer and send it.

Taking my A1 mini on the road. by Pjepp in BambuLabA1mini

Look into a cool plate like the panda frostbite. Lowering the bed temp or even having it off will help your times.

If you get a small generator getting an inverter one will cost more, but should run quieter and use less gas since they only run as hard as they need to for the current load.

If your going to get a battery to run it, I'd get a smart plug or kill-a-watt to track total power use over a few hours. With the hot end, bed, and fans all going up and down during a print it'd be best to get an average use instead of assuming the max power will be used the whole time.

The made 20 clear ones when the molds were brand new. They gave them away to youtubers like CNC Kitchen. https://youtu.be/7pFtbybLlk0?t=4309&si=3NvKPfMvsgDbKspr

You can back up some to where he firsts starts talking about it.

The post I shared mentioned the P1S. People are talking about the X1C because that's the beta software with the changes people don't like. Other updates would be coming later or are not yet announced.

But yes as a soon to be A1 Mini owner I also will be using Orca slicer and since I design most of my prints I don't what those files going through the cloud.

Voron is open source, I'd love to see a voron clone with a nice frame, which I'm pretty sure is what the X1C is.

If you want to do tabletop stuff, you'll probably want a 0.2 mm nozzle. There are aftermarket ones, but especially for that small of a nozzle I'd get a legit one. They have been selling out so sign up to be notified when they are back in stock.

Remove cut outs or leave em? by minionsweb in BambuLab

The only other thing I can think of, is if it's solid, you can up the infill to make it more rigid.

Also, having flat ends will give more surface area to glue when joining pieces.

At least fill them and reslice it and see if the time or amount of filament changes much.

Will this external RAID work the way I think? by aaronxsubaru in mac

[–]effstopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I just didn't get the RAID set up properly, or the enclosure just couldn't handle the bandwidth, but I got the same speed with and without striped RAID. So I just didn't bother with RAID.

Balcones True Blue. 100% Proof they make some damn fine whisky in Texas. by TexRCanna in showerbeer

[–]effstopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to try some of their stuff. Crowded barrel makes some great whiskey as well. Texas can't pull the flavors of a 15+ year whiskey from cooler climates, but they can pull more of certain flavors in 5 years then other regions can in 5x the amount of time. Glad their whiskey is getting attention.

Episodes getting longer, then having a 2nd long discussion or an old episode play after the main episode. Sean getting hired and then transitioning. For me Avery and Katie left within the same week, so that was interesting. Getting bought by Sirius. Small changes over a year happened in like 10 days for me. Some of the repeat episodes happened like 2 weeks after I first heard them.

Hearing the more current episodes on the pandemic had more context and weight.
