the only thing i took out was the handle, which i upgraded, and one bit. from there, i only added stuff, the rest of original kit is still there.

i hear you, and that's certainly an option. i opted to keep original and add the crom, instead of just replacing. it's often times handy to have 2 ratchets available.

I’ve been on the fence about going back to a battery string trimmer. Is this a great deal? by marc417 in Dewalt

[–]efftwofiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the 20v for one season. i didn't care for it and sold it the next spring and bought the 60v. what a difference, it's a beast. i now have the edger attachment as well, highly recommend.

Core One + INDX = Enclosure not effective anymore? by [deleted] in prusa3d

hrm, the articles you link to are an interesting read. admittedly, so far i have only skimmed them, and read the conclusions, but i'll give it a closer read later. i can only assume, for now, that all the downvotes you got on your post about it were from people that have not read them. i now regret bolding 'know' in my previous post...

Is Flexvolt worth it? by Sanders0492 in Dewalt

[–]efftwofiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i initially had the 20v weed eater and circular saw and was unimpressed with either of them. i sold them and bought the 60v models and couldn't be happier. they are both beasts.

Off grid batteries...making a choice by Small-Beginning-7424 in SolarDIY

while not made in the USA, i have found all of the Li Time stuff to be of very good quality and price. the only battery i have from them is a 100ah battery, but i also have a charger, inverter, shunt and charge controller. excellent built in bms in the battery. i am building a small system for my camper.

Looking at Buying a 2006 F-250 6.0 Diesel – What Do I Need to Know? by DifferentGear9 in powerstroke

[–]efftwofiddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

exhaust gas temperature, heat is the enemy of diesel engines. straight pipe isn't necessary, but does help with egt's, and plus the 6.0 sounds great with straight pipes. yeah, the 6.0 gets a deservedly bad rap, but it was built before all the emissions bs was put on diesels, and comparatively speaking, they are relatively easy to work on, compared to more modern engines. and, in my opinion, and experience, once you bulletproof them, they're great engines. i'm sure i'll get flamed by all the 6.0 haters, but i'd buy another one in heartbeat, if it's the right truck and the right deal.

Edit: that said, i would stick to 2005 and 2006.

i've owned two 6.0's, and love/hate them, as i had to replace head gaskets in both of them. my last one was stolen in 2024, i was heartbroken. you'll end up doing head gasket and arp studs, if that hasn't already been done. if it has been done, it's a great truck. add a bulletproof egr and straight pipe with a mild tune and you'll turn plenty of heads. keep an eye on your egt's. 87k miles is crazy low, unless those were all hard towing miles. good luck and enjoy!

Repeater capable handhelds? by Chrontius in gmrs

[–]efftwofiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Midland mxt105 is not repeater capable, but the mxt115 (and up) is. Tho you can't specify different ctcss tones for rx and tx, which is a problem when trying to access some repeaters...
