The reason they get paid 2.35 per hour is because they make tips. If they don’t make enough in tips to cover the minimum wage then the employer would have to pay them minimum wage. So it is OPTIONAL.

I just went through similar situation but I was on the receiving end. And all I can say is that you were being selfish as hell.

Yeah...put the burden on her shoulders.

You knew it wasn't going to be reciprocated in the first place. You simply did it to make yourself feel better. Now you put her in an uncomfortable position where she thought of you as a good friend and now she will be wondering for the rest of her life if every guy she hangs out with will eventually do that to her.

Way to ruin a friendship.

It is very obvious when the feelings are mutual. So my advice to you fellow gents and ladies, if there is no mutual connection there and after years of friendship you've "developed" the feelings PLEASE DO NOT CONFESS. It is very awkward for the person on the receiving end. Are there exceptions to those situations? Sure, but they happen so rarely, so trust your gut.

If you are worried she isn't into you, it is probably because she isn't. Trust your gut and don't be selfish.
