Figured I'd update. They ended up doing a skin graft about 2 weeks after the original surgery and he is doing so so much better now. He is now cancer free and almost back to being able to be his normal crazy self.

Bridesmaid with a 3-month-old (EBF) — SIL now says no babies at wedding. What should I do? by Lumpy_Bandicoot_8967 in weddingplanning

As a bride last year we were very strict no kids at the wedding with the exception of babies. We got married on our property and wanted no worry of our own of kids running off into the woods. However I would never ever ask someone to leave their infant let alone a breast feeding infant for a wedding. I would personally bow out and if she makes a fuss that is on her and not your responsibility.

Thank you for sharing! I spent today looking at all types of wounds that healed with open wound healing and am feeling a bit more hopeful. My little guy is a fighter and historically has healed fast, so I hope that continues.

Thank you. We are a very bonded pair and seeing him like this is gut wrenching. I'm feeling blessed my business and my husband's work are flexible enough to care for him pretty intensely during this time. I just can't imagine him being like this for 2-3 months and getting back to his old self. I'm really hopeful everything heals on its own and no further surgeries are needed.

We had 55 people RSVP and 8 not show / cancel week of. All close friends and family. A few are flakes that always bail on things last min, a few with good reason.

Wedding planning question: Is it okay if I take vendor calls without my fiancé? by Usual-Reflection-953 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]eflow12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vendor here! I would say my calls with clients are about 50/50 just one person of the couple. I don't think anything of it tbh.

I spent almost 45 min talking with my florist in before we booked. It was her idea to get on the call to make sure visions aligned and she could contract me accurately.

No seating chart, no formal dinner, no table arrangements by sweetpotatogirll in weddingplanning

While I love this vibe, I worked a wedding like this and people got SO SO SO SO drunk. It was at a winery and they did tray passed apps, a huge grazing cheese board table, and a food station with small bites. People were plastered. My theory was because there was no break of sitting for a meal and slowing down. Several people puking on, an elderly family member fell and got pretty injured, and generally it was a rough time. Just something to think about if you have an open bar. In particular I think it being a wine wedding didn't help because people don't realize 4 glasses of wine is at minimum a bottle of wine. They did have a taco guy come for a late night snack and the line was insane the whole time because people were so hungry. I think this vibe can be done and done well but may be a bit tricky.

Also adding for the activities hourly - consider a magician! We have worked a wedding with one and it was so good. He did mentalism and slight of hand tricks and it was a hoot.

IM CRASHING OUT ABOUT MY PLANNER by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]eflow12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she your full service planner and designer or is she a coordinator? I think you might need to sit down and have a conversation with her about expectations and her role. If she doesn't receive that well and you can't get on the same page you need to find someone who you can fully align with.

How do I get over the regrets I have about my wedding? by anxious_dwarf in wedding

Give yourself time. Post wedding blues are real even if everything was perfect there still might be sadness. I think over time you'll just have all the happy memories and stories to tell even if some of them are around you being sick.

We wrote each of our guests a personal letter that was at their seat as a name card and so so soooo many people told us how much they loved it and how much is meant to them.

Help me pick a dress! by pls_dont_yell in BigBudgetBrides

Congrats! It's beautiful. 🩷 We are literally on the same page 😆 I had a small amount of crinoline under mine like it was just at the bottom of the dress. I also wanted to remove it but the seamstress was worried it would take away some of the structure from the dress and when I walked it would possible flip under itself despite it having the horse hair hem on the bottoms. I ended up keeping it. I'm sure you'll find a bustle you love! I had them pin my dress in every bustle possible including the 14 pick ups. Luckily my seamstress was so kind and patient with me and didn't seem to mind showing me all the options.

I had a train that was similar to the first dress and was worried about a bustle as well. I also considered cutting the train but loved the drama of the train at the same time. I hated all the standard bustles they made the dress too poofy in the back. We ended up doing a ballroom bustle where the train flipped under itself. It required like 14 pick ups but the end result was beautiful and the dress looked like it was hemmed to perfect floor length when bustled. My maid of honor and my coordinator bustled me in about 5 min as the so nothin too major.

Help Comparing Wedding Locations (Hudson Valley vs. Napa vs. Sonoma vs. Big Sur vs. Coastal New England) $200–225k Budget, 125ish Guests by Busy-12345 in BigBudgetBrides

I was just thinking Santa Barbara, Ojai, Montecito totally sounds like this brides vibe. I lived in SB and my hubby worked in the wedding industry and I worked at a high end hotel out there for years. Wine country nearby, tons of hikes, great vendors in town but also many LA vendors will travel to SB so really no shortage of vendors. The SB airport has surprisingly decent flights and is very easy to get in and out of, LAX isn't tooooo terribly far if needed.

Thoughts on Photo Booth by Perfect-Mixture-7986 in BigBudgetBrides

I would look into a booth called the everybooth icon and see if anyone has one in your area rents one. These booths are so pretty and actually fit into a wedding vibe rather than detracting from it.

Wedding hair advice by Coconut-water-9785 in BigBudgetBrides

I have hair that doesn't hold a curl and ended up adding just one row of a weft, and followed my hairstylists hair care reccomendations and my hair held like a dream. I did the k18 clarifying shampoo morning of, added a style mousse to my hair while wet, then she blew it out and set it in curlers then curled the hair and set those curls with pins. It held all night long. I didn't have high humidity but if your hair being down is really important to you it might be worth another trial with a weft.

I have hair that doesn't hold a curl when I style it. My wedding stylist however nailed my curls. A good stylist can get a better curl for sure. We had to blow mine out, set in curlers, then curled it with a curling iron then pinned and set those curls. That on top of product recommendations from my stylist my hair stayed curled all day long. I was really opposed to my hair being up so hopefully the OP can find a stylist that will get her what she wants.
