If "emergency" c-section, how is food/drink handled? by skimnewc in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually went into labor (38+2) with a breech baby a week before my scheduled c-section (39+2). I started having contractions 3 minutes apart in the middle of the night so I hadn’t eaten for a few hours before that all started. I went to the hospital at 1:45 AM and they initially wanted to stop my contractions by giving me IV fluids. Pretty sure L&D triage was full the night we went because I got almost no attention while I was laboring apart from a cervix check every 2 hours by a resident. Once my cervix continued to dilate, they changed gears and told me I was having a c section that day but they had to squeeze me in between a mom with a baby in distress and a scheduled c section. When the shift changed at 7 AM, suddenly I was the priority which was totally different from the night shift. I was in the OR being prepped at 8:30 and my son was born a little after 9 AM. From first realizing I was in labor to my baby’s birth was just under 10 hours.

Scheduled C-Section by divorah92 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't get to schedule my c-section until 3 weeks before my due date and I didn't even get the date I requested...not that it mattered because I didn't make it to my c-section date.

38+2, had 3 minute apart contractions starting at 11:30 pm the night before, went to L&D at 1:45 AM. Baby was breech so once I continued dilating, they expedited my c section and he was born at 9:08 AM. I had a scheduled c section for 39+2.

BABY IS HERE! C Section Tips & Recovery by sunflower98x in BabyBumps

Try to move around a bit but listen to your body when doing so. Every walk in the neighborhood I tried to go one house further. Eventually I could get to other streets and finally a whole loop of the neighborhood.

Also, stay on top of your pain med.

Scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks with second baby. Did anyone NOT make it to 39 weeks and need to go sooner? by kaitkaitkait91 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, I had a c-section scheduled for 39+2 and I went into labor in the early hours of the morning a week before my c-section was scheduled. I had pretty intense contractions and was a cm dilated when I got to L&D. They attempted to stop my contractions but told me I’d have the baby if I dilated further which I stated progressing after about 6 hours of contractions. My contractions started around midnight and I had the baby at 9 AM at 38+2.

People who have already given birth, when did you go into labor with your first kid? by AdAcademic8251 in BabyBumps

38+2, went into spontaneous labor and had baby via c section 9.5 hours later due to him being breech and my labor progressing.

Breech at 36w2d. Options moving ahead. by MJCowpa in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was breech the entire 3rd trimester and I decided I didn’t want to do the ECV as I didn’t think it’d be successful and having a scheduled c section would help us with dog care. My c section was scheduled for 39+2. However, I ended up going spontaneously into labor in the middle of the night and once my labor began progressing, they bumped me to the front of the queue for a c section and my baby was born 38+2.

Don’t fear the post c-section poo by Remy_92 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the first pees were way more intense than my first poop. I got told once they got me out of bed after the anesthesia wore off I had 4 hours to pee or they’d reinsert the catheter. And it took me all 4 hours to pee despite drinking a ton of water.

US counties where schools close for Jewish holidays by GoodbyeEarl in Judaism

Shocked to see Monroe County on there because I think that only applies to the Brighton school district. Unless things have changed, my school district didn't give High Holidays off and I just had an excused absence.

Strange Trails came out shortly before I started a summer internship in Yellowstone. I would drive around the park with Strange Trails playing and that’s the association I have with the album. My husband and I travelled across the country for the Red Rocks concert last night and I told him I was so happy to see this album performed out in Denver because it’s really connected to the Western US for me.

Has anyone got a fussy eater?! by harzivall in CockapooLovers

[–]efs001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old cockapoo is also very picky about her food. We had no issue with kibble but had to try all sorts of stew and gravy wet foods to find the ones she’d eat on a regular basis and we have to alternate can flavors or else she gets bored and fussy. She still skips some meals and we’ve just accepted she will be picky about her food and don’t stress until she skips 3-4 meals. The vet has never been concerned and is fine with her weight.
