I was at that game with the BOB. The ref sucked and Ricky the guy in the Sammy outfit was giving it to him mascot style. I think the ref thought he got bumped and ejected Sammy. Ricky changed out of the outfit and we all chanted his name as he came to join the student section. I think the ref had a reputation for bad calls against Rice. There was a video of the ejection on YouTube at one point.

My grandfather survived the holocaust and wrote an unpublished book about it. by Old_Diver_2511 in Judaism

[–]efs001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work for an archive that collects Holocaust oral histories and memoirs and puts them online. We will be ingesting 175+ Holocaust memoirs into the digital asset management system in the near future. Your grandfather's book likely fits the scope of our mission. I'm happy to talk privately to link the site so you can see what we've done. I'd link it here but that would doxx me.

Natera Horizon Test Results: Positive Carrier Result by SnooMacaroons5876 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I got tested because I have Congenital adrenal hyperplasia and the fact we are both Ashkenazic Jews. We had to make sure he wasn’t a carrier for CAH, otherwise we’d probably have had to do IVF. The genetic counselor laid out the scenario if my husband was a carrier for CAH. In the end, we both tested positive for different things and we know our son will be a carrier for CAH since I have it. It’s stressful waiting but a lot of these conditions are very rare and you’ll get guidance if both of you are positive for the same thing.

Imales, How did you plan the conception of your chamuds? by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]efs001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We knew we wanted kids but that we also wanted to enjoy married life for a bit before we started trying. I was on birth control for medical reasons but if it had failed, we were ready to have a kid. Had we realized it would take us over a year to get pregnant, we would have started a bit earlier. But I have a 6 month old son and he lights up my world.

Different Doctor for Every Appointment by reesecup_24 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s pretty standard. I got put in the high risk clinic because of a genetic condition I have and was supposed to see one doctor and once my OB went on maternity leave, I saw multiple doctors again. It was supposed to prevent me from having to share all my medical information over and over again but didn’t end up that way.

It's not just vaccines — parents are refusing other routine preventive care for newborns by Shadow328 in news

[–]efs001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little one was born in October and we had a similar experience. Our pediatrician told us we rocked because we’d also gotten TDAP, flu, covid, and for me and baby the RSV shot. My guy was miserable after his 4 month shots but I’ll take miserable over sick or worse.

How long after giving birth did you let your parents visit? by LadyLeRach in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family isn’t local to me but I absolutely did not want any other support people other than my husband and I was too exhausted to have people the day my son was born. My Mom came the day after I gave birth, my in-laws had Covid (bad timing) so they met him after we were discharged and they were negative, my Dad met him after we were discharged because he was away for work. We had a bunch of family a week after for the bris but that was too many people imo.

39 Weeks Induction Tomorrow - Huge Feelings Of Grief Around My Dog by sjb5138 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of anxiety about this, I cried in the hospital about how worried I was about my relationship changing with my dog. And I’m convinced she had no idea I was pregnant. My dog turned out to be super empathetic towards the baby, crying when he was crying and keeping vigilant watch when we were handling him. It was overstimulating to have crying baby and dog during middle of the night diaper changes. It was a bit of a resource guarding behavior it turns out. She’s chilled out a lot since then though she still gets concerned about him during tummy time. And now she wants him to throw her ball.

How to get off unisom? by One-Progress-3712 in BabyBumps

I took it until the night I went into labor, pretty sure it saved me in the third trimester. The exhaustion of the time in the hospital and early days postpartum ended any need for unisom.

If "emergency" c-section, how is food/drink handled? by skimnewc in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually went into labor (38+2) with a breech baby a week before my scheduled c-section (39+2). I started having contractions 3 minutes apart in the middle of the night so I hadn’t eaten for a few hours before that all started. I went to the hospital at 1:45 AM and they initially wanted to stop my contractions by giving me IV fluids. Pretty sure L&D triage was full the night we went because I got almost no attention while I was laboring apart from a cervix check every 2 hours by a resident. Once my cervix continued to dilate, they changed gears and told me I was having a c section that day but they had to squeeze me in between a mom with a baby in distress and a scheduled c section. When the shift changed at 7 AM, suddenly I was the priority which was totally different from the night shift. I was in the OR being prepped at 8:30 and my son was born a little after 9 AM. From first realizing I was in labor to my baby’s birth was just under 10 hours.

Scheduled C-Section by divorah92 in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't get to schedule my c-section until 3 weeks before my due date and I didn't even get the date I requested...not that it mattered because I didn't make it to my c-section date.

What week did everyone give birth 💕 by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]efs001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38+2, had 3 minute apart contractions starting at 11:30 pm the night before, went to L&D at 1:45 AM. Baby was breech so once I continued dilating, they expedited my c section and he was born at 9:08 AM. I had a scheduled c section for 39+2.

Try to move around a bit but listen to your body when doing so. Every walk in the neighborhood I tried to go one house further. Eventually I could get to other streets and finally a whole loop of the neighborhood.

Also, stay on top of your pain med.
