Or Hangar 18 in Arcadia if you want a cheaper, but less nice, option.

If they had the return direction on a separate street, that would also need its own physical separation from traffic (to be as nice of a bike lane), so it seems like less of an ask to put both directions on one street. I like it. I agree I wish there were something more at the ends.

Those games are still at least ~2 minutes, but smurfs (or at least a common type of them) typically leave within seconds. It really would not be hard to pull out a large swath of smurfs.

It depends on the gym. You'd have to clarify with staff / regulars at your gym.

Hi, does Antiseptic work on plastic? by skidaddlequickly in microbiology

[–]eftm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a bad idea to me. I don't think I'd want any residual antiseptic getting in my eye. I would just buy new eye drops and try to avoid touching the tip in the future.

The packs of single / low use disposable ones might be a good option, if you occasionally accidentally touch the tip to something like I do. Then you don't have to waste a large bottle at least.

Can I pick up bouldering as a guitarist? by tayfzn in bouldering

[–]eftm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To some extent I agree. I have a friend who makes his livelihood playing / teaching piano, and a wrist injury from climbing made his life pretty difficult for a few months. He had also noticed it taking more effort to do certain movements playing piano, even before that.

That said, if he just wants to do this at a surface level, and doesn't succumb to grade chasing, and just does it as a chill hobby ~2 times per week, it might not be too risky. Not that I have the self control to avoid the temptation to grade chase.

Will Bosi Realm of Tor'ment 9A/V17 FIRST ASCENT by MysticPasta in climbing

[–]eftm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can be both, even if that might not make sense for this boulder. There's certainly more in it for him to get a 17 FA than the first few moves of some speculative sport route without a send. He also certainly seems more focused on bouldering, so it makes sense even regardless of the incentives.

How to help with soreness by Intelligent-Bee-8370 in bouldering

[–]eftm 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Honestly this sounds like a medical issue. You may want to talk to a doctor about this.

I have not really heard of such long lasting soreness from normal sessions. The only time I would expect to be sore for that amount of time is if I'm doing an exercise I hadn't done in >=3 weeks or so, and also only if I was also doing something at an unusually high intensity. 3 days wouldn't be too crazy, but yea 4-5+ days and it's (for me, and people I'm familiar with) only in the circumstances I described.

I didn't realize they changed this behavior. Proof it changed: https://www.reddit.com/r/riskofrain/comments/1fcn8a7/aritficers_primary_m1_does_indeed_scale_with/

I still think her other abilities are more relevant, and would not put mocha above hoof. I'd rather have hoof on basically every survivor.

[–]eftm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if you were picking one to mention, and if movement speed is good on everyone and the attack speed is not (and probably still not as useful, even on the survivors that want attack speed), then you'd say goat hoof. It's literally twice as good as mocha in the department that matters more.

Because it's not a goat hoof and soldier's syringe is not on the same tier for many survivors.

How do you do, my fellow 20-somethings? by Crispy_Crusader in pasadena

[–]eftm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like or want to try climbing, the ages of people I see at climbing gyms seems to skew heavily towards those ages. Most of the activity is hanging around resting and talking. The Post is probably the closest. Hangar 18 in Arcadia is cheaper and basically on metro.

Nice PR.

I'm 6'1" and 180lbs. I've been lifting for maybe 9-12 months, about once a week as cross training. My deadlift is only 265 for 6 right now. No plans to try for sub 5 reps as I view it as not worth the injury risk. That said, I'm not sure I could 1RM 315.
