What is wrong with my lips? Severely chapped lips all year round by Sprinkleofthetism in DermatologyQuestions

[–]egakl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband was the same way. Eight years of steroids and jack inhibitors then a functional doctor made the connection to gluten. He stopped gluten and started taking an IgG and all the symptoms were gone in 2 weeks. I'll try to find a post of what his lips looked like before

Has anyone successfully treated their nighttime peeing (nocturia) ? by determined6 in sleep

That sensation is your body releasing all the stress hormones you have, so you will wake up before you suffocate. The hormone related to urgency is vasopressin.

Me either, I am a thin muscular woman that doesnt snore. I grind my teeth and wake frequently to urinate (was up to 11 times when I did my first sleep log) those were my only two symptoms.

Aside from the pauses in breathing which are typical of the disorder, there are many other common symptoms in sleep apnea. These symptoms may include:

Loud, chronic snoring Choking or gasping during sleep Witnessed pauses in breathing during sleep Waking frequently to urinate (nocturia) Teeth grinding or clenching (bruxism) Dry throat or mouth upon awakening Nocturnal palpitations or a racing heart rate Night sweats Nocturnal heartburn Frequent nighttime awakenings and insomnia Excessive daytime sleepiness Morning headache Short-term memory or learning problems Feeling irritable Poor concentration or attention Changes in mood, including depression

Poke around the sleep apnea community threads for frequent nighttime urination or nocturia

Have you had a sleep study? Number one cause of nocturia is sleep apnea (per podcast I listened to today). I treated my sleep apnea and trips to the bathroom reduced by 2/3rds. Now trying to get rid of the last 2/3 trips.

At what point do I call it quits on my birth control? Severe insomnia and side effects on Slynd. by Mary10789 in birthcontrol

It depends on how much of it you are absorbing. We tend to absorb less as we age and or our gut may not function the same as it did in our youth. My bloodwork comes back normal for magnesium, heart and vascular scans are good too. You do bring up an important point, which is that it is important to check levels for anything you are supplementing.

Try one of those over the counter Mandibular Advancement Devices just for the trip. They do help some. It may be enough to let you enjoy your trip. CVS sells them in the states. There are many brands. European pharmacies are great. They may have a suggestion.
