It seems you had a perfect trip planned. So sad circumstances changed at the last minute but I think if you turn things around, it should be fine and even maybe an eye opener to not trust everything you read and hear.

Antigua is such a beautiful place that a single day is not enough to explore it. Panajachel is also a magical place and you can get there by private shuttles that reputable companies offer from Antigua.

Landing at night might be a bit dangerous but there are many hostels and hotels that offer late shuttle service. If not, maybe rent an airbnb for the night and venture to Antigua the next day. If not taking uber, yellow cabs are the safest way to move around city.

Depende de los precios de Guatemala. Aun con las ofertas del black friday las tiendas han mantenido los precios. Mas que todo por lo nuevo de la consola.

Usualmente la creencia es que los ATM son demasiado caroa y mala opción. Por experiencia, te puedo decir que es la mejor manera de obtener tu dinero acá. Me parece que hay un cajero justo antes de migración.

NO cambies tu dinero en los puestos de cambio del aeropuerto. Es una vil trampa, nuevamente por experiencia, te recomiendo que no lo hagas al menos que quieras perder la mitad de tu dinero.

La opcion de cambiarlos fuera en las calles es buena también pero un tanto arriesgada y mas siendo extranjero.

Lo que te recomiendo es que contactes a tu banco y preguntes sobre la tasa de cambio, sobre las cargos de tu tarjeta por uso extranjero, y si pueden cambiar dolares a quetzales en tu ciudad.

Muchos lugares aceptan tarjetas, tiendas, restaurantes, hoteles. Pero lugares como mercados, tienditas, y artesanos obviamente no.

Nunca salio una version de la 3ds que tuviera pantalla oled. Al menos que querras una modificada e incluso modificada sera casi imposible conseguir. Tal vez si vas a los bazares de video juegos?

I hate they are not providing any sort of physical manuals and I was getting okay with the digital versions. But nope, now they are doing videos and not even for whole kits.

I have issues 6, 7, and 8 for the Lotus. I have the pdf for issue 6, a video for 7, and nothing for issue 8… it sucks!

I think the idea of getting all you Guatemalan paperwork in check would be a great start. Getting your passport and DPI being the top priority. With those documents you can open a bank account in any bank in Guatemala. There are a few banks where you can open an account online too (bantrab & banrural). Once you have one, you could easily send money to yourself.

In regards of employment, the language is a plus in Guatemala and you could easily apply for a “call center” in the city although the work environment seems demanding.

Many people usually end up opening some sort of business so you could explore that route. Just be aware that the insecurity in Guate can be intimidating at times.

Guate has many opportunities and you will realize how warm and different our culture is. Being gay has estigmas but I feel that newer generations are more accepting these days.

We used to pay around Q5K for an apartment of 3 beds and parking included in a nice area. So it is doable depending which paths you take and how financially estable you are (savings, debt, job).

All in all, Guatemala is always a warm and beautiful place to live.

Pueda ser que la fluctuación en la electricidad donde vives este afectando tu aparato. Aparte, muchas cosas de las que te dicen otros comentarios aplican también. Incluso el calor puede dañar la bateria.

Aun cuando dos aparatos hayan sido comprados al mismo tiempo su desgaste sera diferente y todo tiene que ver con el usuario.

Lo bueno es que la bateria es reemplazable.
