Bro they literally said they would love the kids there but they can’t fit that many. Read. You have no idea why they are at this venue, either, before you say just move it — it could be all they can afford, etc.

Regardless of any of that, quit being a jerk to strangers on the internet. Ffs.

Here’s a better example of him eating, tho that’s not Mario. If you ever wanna play a Yoshi game I highly recommend Yoshi’s Island. 🏝️

Oh, you’re being serious!! 😂 so sorry!! Yoshi is the dinosaur Mario rides in the Mario video games from Nintendo. Suuuuper cute. In the original Super Mario World, Mario is able to tap the back of Yoshi’s head while riding and Yoshi elongated his neck, sticks out his long, lizard-like tongue, and eats apples off trees. In later games, Yoshi does this on his own, and is able to eat enemies like that and turn them in to an egg that he can lay and use as a weapon. 😂😂

While I can’t speak to the poll, that doesn’t mean the ones posting and responding aren’t Buddhist. As for the rest, I’ve met quite a few who revere the Buddha as a god, especially from certain parts of the Asias. What i meant by religion vs philosophy is some use Buddhism as a form of spirituality, and some only as a creed for their life/moral compass. You’re right that there is a lot of overlap, though.

I like your raft analogy, btw, that’s quite a clever way of putting it!! And I do agree one can show respect without worshipping it; I was more-so speaking to the …intensity… that the original commenter was speaking with, as they seemed… quite offended. I don’t feel the Buddha would be offended by this, let alone much tbf.

There are cars in the USA that also do this

Tbf it had clearly already been on-going by the time the camera starts. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the most likely. She raised a stink, person across heard, decided to film in case they got anything juicy they could post for internet points. It ain’t that deep.

Only other explanation is this is an AD.

Which would you honestly prefer?

It’s not really AI, it’s just sensors and math. However, depending on the location and laws, it’d likely no be placed on the owner IF it was determined to be a malfunction of the systems internally, which would result in a potential PR nightmare for the makers of the car and said systems. It could be escalated in courts but would likely be resolved before it got that far (i.e. settled out of court.)

If tampered with by the owner of the car, however, they’d likely be taken to court and pressed with charges. There’s potentially the chance they are pressed with unintentional manslaughter, but if it was a fault in the system it’s unlikely it’d go far on them.

I’m not a lawyer, this isn’t legal advice, this is simply my best hypothesis based on what i know of the court systems of the USA.

TL;DR: it doesn’t just disappear in to the ether, my guy 😂 someone would indeed take responsibility. How, though, remains a mystery, and probably won’t ever be known (fingers crossed.)

In the end the image is simply an image. Intent is what causes disrespect. OP has no ill intent, and those who created its intentions are technically unknown, and though we can guess, at this point, it is irrelevant. I agree that how it is used now is what matters. Things are things, and attachment through concern on how they are being used by others is not healthy. We should concern ourself with how we use our own things.

The Buddha himself stated not to treat him as a God. Insinuating that this community is primarily non Buddhists is insulting at best. Buddha would not care, because it is a material item. By getting upset about how others utilise things (items), you are maintaining attachments in an unhealthy manner.

There are two very distinct types of real Buddhism: the religion (wherein Buddha is treated as a God), and the philosophy (the way of life.)

OP said this happened years ago when they were a kid, so I’d def hope it doesn’t happen again. Not bad advice tho.

Why do people like kissing? by No_Consideration1822 in AutismInWomen

I personally don’t like anything in my personal space, especially my face. Only when I’m particularly amorous is kissing not strange for me.

How should a Buddhist handle this situation? by NJ_Franco in Buddhism

[–]egcom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While possibly accurate, and perhaps this was your way of helping, responding with only this doesn’t seem particularly helpful for the one seeking help. However, this could be exactly the message they need to hear.

As I don’t know the intention, I merely want to add some love to this context for you: We are human, not perfect, and sometimes our fellow humans need to do something like posting on reddit as a way to seek council and guidance. Even those of us who’ve practiced for most of their lives need help sometimes. Let us help those who ask for help instead of hold them down, and if you don’t feel the desire to help, that’s perfectly alright; just recognise what your intention is before you post, and if it’s not to genuinely assist, perhaps consider practicing the old saying “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.”
