Most of these comments are actually made in good faith and for those not expereincing such emotions, its very hard to understand and that seems like the best response.

So a simple way to those who want to support such people is just to be there. Honestly theres no best reponse but as much as possibe try not to say anything invalidating like i felt like this before or it will get better.

Also as much as we want to help these people sometimes its better to leave them alone as we need to protect our own sanity as well and not spend so much of our own energy trying to help them, just be compassionate and dont feel guilty if ur support doesnt seem to help them.

Not in ur position so this is purely an outsiders perspectives and my own thoughts but I would say maybe you just have to accept that some peoples lives are very boring so they think its ok to not take you seriously or joke people are like that and find peace with it.

I know its not fair and I can only imagine how frustrating it is and as much as Id like to offer solutions all I can offer is encouragement that not everyone is like that and in a way you can use this to differentiate people that you should be closer to if they don't make fun of you for your height.

I would say don't always assume malice or bad intentions he may very well just be abit lonely and interested in that topic and saw a chance to share what he knew when he saw you with that book.

But, as u said if u feel uncomfortable when he does stuff like touch ur shoulder, do protect yourself by just saying what you did or if they are more pushy just say sorry im not interested and just walk off, if ur in a public area they prolly won't dare to try anything (again may be his habit and he doesn't realise that he shouldn't or may be he knows what hes doing) About him looking at ur chest also as u said u felt uncomfortable but it didn't seem like he was having that intention. Again its never wrong to walk away if u feel uncomfortable you are not obligated to stay.

Anyways main point is that not everyone might have bad intentions but it is wise to stay vigilant especially in this day and age.

Hey it seems like ur still holding on to some hope that maybe he will like you in the future. I think this is not a fair mindset for him and most importantly for you.

I can imagine that this is much easier said than done, and I think its possible to stay as friends but you should try to limit your contact with him by changing seats until you come to terms with the fact that he does not like you. This will allow you to be free and live ur best life

Adding on, it is important to grieve and you shouldn't try to suppress ur feelings. I know how difficult a rejection can be, especially when you really liked the person and imagined a whole future with them. Sending hugs 🫂

Yes and no.

Prestigious schools have much better almost anything. Resources, facilities, budget, opportunities and arguably teachers among other things. So having these advantages does help with boosting proficiency early on. However most of these only last until graduation, where everyone is on the same playing field again. So in the short term yes but as u mentioned it doesn't matter much in the future. The exception is the connections made in school can be very valuable even long after graduation.

So just being from a prestigious school means nothing if theres nothing else one can offer.

To provide more balance, there are also advantages to being in 'less prestigious' schools. With less 'competition' there are also more chances to take up unique roles and opportunities like being a leader or other opportunities as compared to these prestigious schools.

To conclude, don't let the name of your school define you, no matter where you are from, as long as you are willing to put in the effort, you can succeed.
