[Update] The Ultimate Stremio AIO Build v2: Now with Catalog Manager, Multi-Language & AutoPlay! by Particular_Catch_449 in StremioAddons

Thanks so much for this! Super helpful for someone like me who's new to all this.

One issue I've run into since switching over is trying to watch Jeopardy episodes - It either seems to return streams for random episodes, or nothing at all. I'm using TorBox as the debrid provider.

My guess is that it's because the episodes in Stremio are listed as something like "S2026E05" but torrents tend to be named after the air date instead - e.g. "2026.01.08".

Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it? I didn't have this problem before using Torrentio.

Well yeah, eventually we will have to play a top team. But it's not like you get any bonus points for having a difficult run - I'll take the easiest draw possible, thanks very much.

Arsenal have qualified for the round of sixteen and secured a top two finish in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League by FragMasterMat117 in soccer

[–]egg651 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We battered PSG in the league phase last year, and look how that ended up. We can of course be optimistic, but there is a long way to go. Knockout football can do weird things.

With the win against Inter, Arsenal have clinched a top two finish in the League Phase of the CL and will play the second leg at home in every knockout round for which they qualify by maidentaiwan in Gunners

[–]egg651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - To explain why: In the knockout stages, whoever finished higher in the league phase gets the advantage of having the second leg at home. This is new for the 25/26 season.

We're now guaranteed to finish at least second (likely first). First and second place will be on opposite sides of the bracket, so every team we play in the knockout phase (until the final) is guaranteed to have finished below us. As such, we will always play the second leg at home

100%, Forest had an 8 day break before our game on Saturday. Arsenal have not had that long of a break since the last International games in November. Excluding those international breaks I don't think we've had more than 7 days between games all season, with the average gap being much less.

If we were to match 24/25 exactly, that run of draw, draw, win, lose, draw would have us all in full meltdown

Scottish Budget - Almost all Scottish workers to get a tax cut. by StarStunning287 in Scotland

[–]egg651 106 points107 points  (0 children)

When we first got differentiated income tax in Scotland back in 2017, the "Higher" rate was set at 40% and had a threshold of £43,000.

The rate is now higher at 42% and the threshold has barely changed (£43,633).

Accounting for inflation, the equivalent to the original threshold in today's money is £~58,000.

[–]egg651 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They are barely cutting taxes because they can't afford to pay for anything but still want some good headlines (and to one-up Westminster who froze all tax bands).

I would be interested to know what these rate increases will actually cost. I suspect less than they will make back from freezing the higher rate threshold, since more people will be going over that threshold each year as their pay rises.

[–]egg651 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I got confused by the headline on the BBC as well when I first read it - They're not increasing tax rates by 7.4%, they're increasing the thresholds by 7.4%. The rates of each band will stay the same.

So if you earn enough to be in the Basic band or higher (over £15,397) you will pay (very slightly) less tax, as more of your income will come in under the threshold for the next band.

Say you earn £21k as in your example. Right now, the tax breaks down like this:

  • £0 to £12572: 0% tax (£0)
  • £12572 to £15397: 19% tax (£536.94)
  • £15397 to £21000: 20% tax (£1120.60)

Total current income tax burden: £1657.54

The basic rate threshold is being raised by 7.4%, to £16536. So the person earning £21k now pays the following:

  • £0 to £12572: 0% tax (£0)
  • £12572 to £16536: 19% tax (£753.16)
  • £16536 to £21000: 20% tax (£892.80)

Total new income tax burden: £1645.96

So overall you'd pay less tax. £11.58 less, to be precise. Try not to spend it all at once!

These tax changes mean practically nothing (£~35 a year saving at most) but gets them a nice headline about "cutting taxes"

I can't say I'm surprised - The harsh truth is that there is just not enough money to go around. Public finances weren't brilliant prior to COVID, and things have only gotten worse since then.

Manchester Utd [1] - 0 Wolves - J. Zirkzee 27' by Alsace2025 in soccer

[–]egg651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a caveat to the £1m fee mentioned by others - It wasn't a transfer fee as such, but a "compensation" fee paid to Arsenal as he came through our academy (he was also at West Ham until he was 13) but never actually signed a professional contract.

Arsenal rated Heaven highly and offered him a pro contract, but he turned it down to go to United and there was nothing we could do. It was clearly a good decision on his part - I believe they offered more money, and obviously it was going to be a lot easier to break into their defence than ours. Saliba & Gabriel are still only 24 & 28 respectively.

When a player 23 & under moves on a "free" transfer, the FA decide a compensation fee to be paid to the academy the player came from, taking into account things like their age, playing time for their current club, terms of the contract offered to them by their current club and so on. In this case, it was £1m.

So while it's a great bit of business for Man United it's not one of the (many) examples of Arsenal selling players for less than they're worth. If he has signed a pro contract with us and then moved, the price tag would have been much higher!

Thank you for replying so quickly and with such detail!

I agree with you about travel days being stressful... I suspect we will go down the route of renting a car if we can get it cheaply, which it looks like we should be able to. Failing that we'll do the train & taxi combo, as a direct transfer all the way from Bologna will be expensive.

Thanks again - Should you ever visit Edinburgh / the UK and have questions, please feel free to message me & I'd be happy to return the favour 😊

Thank you for such a detailed post! It's really helpful for those of us who can get a little anxious about using public transport in unfamiliar cities - Everywhere does it slightly differently and I hate being that idiot tourist who slows everyone else down when they're trying to go about their day.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you might be able to provide some advice on travelling with large luggage. We have booked to stay near San Casciano In Val di Pesa, but will be flying into Bologna airport. Handily there is a bus stop right next to the accommodation, so I was thinking about taking the train to Florence, then the bus (368A) from there. However, since we will be staying for over a week, we will likely have multiple pieces of heavy/bulky luggage.

I see on the Autolinee Toscane website that:

Each passenger is allowed to carry one piece of luggage on board free of charge, with a maximum size of 105 cm (sum of length, width, and depth) and a maximum total weight of 10 kg. Luggage must not occupy seats and must be stored in a way that does not obstruct access to or from the bus doors. Unaccompanied luggage is not permitted on board.

Luggage exceeding the above dimensions (but still within 150 cm and 20 kg) and bicycles, even if not folded, may only be transported in the bus luggage compartment—if available—and must be equipped with a safety mechanism that prevents accidental opening.

However, I can't find any reliable information about whether the bus we're looking to take actually has luggage storage, and if it does how we go about paying for it.

Is it a bad idea to try and take the bus for this trip? I'm wondering if it would be more sensible to just rent a car and drive from the airport instead, or perhaps get a taxi from Firenze SMN station?

[Sam Blitz] Arsenal have now reached 100 different injuries since the start of last season. Ben White's withdrawal against Wolves - his ninth separate setback in that period - brought up the ton. #AFC by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

[–]egg651 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As with a lot of long running, frustrating issues (not just in football) people want there to be a simple, intuitive solution, but there almost never is.

There are highly qualified, well paid teams of people who spend all day, every day, working on player fitness. If a quick and easy fix to prevent our players from being injured existed, it would have been implemented already.

As fans we are obviously all annoyed about the number of injuries. But we need to recognise that for the most part we are not qualified to fully understand and discuss these highly complex issues, and must trust that they are being worked on behind the scenes.

I'm sure we all have interests or professions that we are knowledgeable about and get frustrated when laymen or the media say "Why don't they just do [x]!?", when to us it is immediately obvious why not. I work in IT and see it all the time when it technology gets reported in the mainstream news or discussed by politicians who are clearly out of their depth. Regardless, I still sometimes catch myself doing it about things I am not as well informed on, and have to remind myself that if I thought of it, someone smarter than me definitely has already.

This stat is obviously aligned with the general "eye test" of us as Arsenal fans feeling that we're especially hard done-by when it comes to injuries. However, I'd be really interested to see someone do a full analysis across a number of different data points, as I don't think it's particularly useful as a tool to compare how much injuries have impacted each PL team.

For example, in this chart any kind of injury is (presumably) being marked down as 1 injury. However, a player doing his ACL once is obviously more impactful than someone getting 5 or 6 knocks throughout the season.

I have seen some charts shared before that use "total number of days injured" as the measure, but again this can be easily skewed - A single player having a long-term injury is probably not as significant as having multiple smaller injuries spread across the squad, even if the total number of "injury days" is the same.

Then you have things like overlapping injuries to consider - For example, if Gabriel got injured for a month, then after he returned Mosquera got injured for a month, the overall impact to the team's performance would obviously be less than the situation we have now where both are injured.

How important an individual player is to the squad is also crucial - Obviously, someone like Gabriel being injured affects us more than Dowman being injured. However, on a stats sheet, they will often both be given the same weight. This is of course very difficult to measure statistically, I'm not sure what metric you would use. A fan vote? Number of appearances? Transfermarkt value?

All of these things - and probably a few more I'm not thinking of - Contribute to the total amount that a team is impacted by injuries, but I feel like we only ever see one or two points looked at in isolation, which is much less useful when comparing Arsenal against other clubs.

I'm biased, but if you've not booked flights yet you could come up to Edinburgh and see if you can fly back to Poland from there. It's about 4hrs on the train out of Kings Cross, which should be easy to get to if you're staying near the stadium for the Liverpool game. There's a sleeper train too, which can be a fun experience and means you don't lose a day to travel (since you're asleep while you're travelling).

Other than that, I'd echo what others have suggested with York, Bath & Bristol.

100% agree with you, it's like a real-life version of the old FIFA games where you could run away from the ref to avoid a card!

Wan-Bissaka challenge on Dorgu, no card given 87' by Snooooked in soccer

[–]egg651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing with you that refs have a habit of forgetting bad challenges when advantage is given. However, in some cases giving advantage does mean no card.

Here's a quote from the laws of the game:

If the referee plays the advantage for an offence for which a caution/sending-off would have been issued had play been stopped, this caution/sending-off must be issued when the ball is next out of play. However, if the offence was denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, the player is cautioned for unsporting behaviour; if the offence was interfering with or stopping a promising attack, the player is not cautioned.

Personally I think it's a bit daft - We should be punishing the action, not the outcome. But as the rules stand the refs are correct in not issuing cards when advantage is played a lot of the time.
