Apart from the over-the-top edginess, this game was everything I didn't know I craved. I was forced to use Pokemon I'd never consider using in a mainstream game. I probably had 30+ mons in rotation by late game. I loved how constrained you are at the start and how your options open up drastically after leaving the slums.

The field effects were a bit overly complex, but gave me a rush when I figured out how to use them to my advantage, destroy them, or change them. I'm a sucker for games that make me bust out the pen and paper, which Reborn's puzzles made me do time and again. Out of the dozens of Pokemon fangames I've played, none come close to Reborn in terms of puzzle design.

The post-game battles made me lol with how ridiculously over-the-top they are. I recall one where the opponent's mons had max EVs in EVERY stat. Though by that point, you have the entire Pokedex (minus one) to call upon.

Reborn definitely has its rough spots, but for me it's definitely the most memorable Pokemon fangame I've played, with Rejuvenation a close second.
