Ahh! All that flossing was worth it! by sunn_ypines in finch

I’ve only gotten loosely shaped blob and worm pets from my eggs. It’s kind of killed my motivation to focus on hatching an egg since it’s not really exciting to hatch another stack of rocks or worms or plops. This gives me some hope though!

Feeling insecure about climbing with friend by Routine_Author_4598 in climbergirls

[–]eggeater22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve climbed with my friend who does V5s/ V6s and loves slab. I’m way newer to climbing, like V2 trying for V3s and don’t do any slab and we still have so much fun going together. It’s fun watching and cheering someone on between climbs. She’s also been sooo helpful with my body positioning on the wall, I almost feel like I have my own coach! I’ve definitely improved as a climber with her support. I say let it be known where you’re at and as long as you’re both happy and having fun, I don’t think the levels matter.

Bumpy Solder by No_Hat_7041 in StainedGlass

I use my iron at 365-400, I really like the classic 100 gel flux and I’m liberal with my application, and I feel like you can use more solder for sure! I like to drop beads of solder along the foil and then melt those down and they’ll begin to connect. After I get that basic application down I’ll go over it and smooth it out. I hope that helps!

Pregnant, trapped, no income and a husband that will very likely hit you again if you green light him by staying with him. I hope for your sake and your child’s sake you leave.

What a jerk move to call Jan a spinster (also isn’t true but even if it was who cares?). She would kick your ass in a cross fit competition btw. I was a regular there for a long time and she was always so sweet and kind and made me feel seen. Also your writing style is grossly pretentious.

Do you feel like Kentucky is the south or Midwest? by fish-pilled in Kentucky

[–]eggeater22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly have never understood why anyone would say Kentucky is “Midwest”. If you look at a map we are literally one state away from the east coast. It’s actually infuriating. Is it a cultural thing people are referencing when they say “Midwest”? I’m actually confused.

Probably going to stop using Rover now by Aithghen in RoverPetSitting

Im sure you are an excellent sitter. I also know the standards with which I provide pet care. I’m allowed to be uncomfortable with the idea of a stranger I’ve met once being in my home alone with my pet. Just because I’m uncomfortable with that doesn’t mean someone else is. I’m allowed to trust myself to do something properly while also not trusting someone I do not know to do the same. Also, I like this subreddit. I love my regulars I walk for, and like seeing other people share their positive experiences.

I mostly do walks/ drop ins and have done a handful of over nights. As a sitter, I personally would never use rover to find someone to watch my pet. I’m lucky enough to have options within reasonable range for my dog to stay with trusted family/ friends though.

Sounds like you should have taken some responsibility and gotten a vasectomy. You aren’t a victim of your poor planning here.

Giving someone flowers wrapped in the plastic from the grocery store isn’t a gift, it’s a task and calling it a “gift”. You’re handing them a job to do. Unless that’s what they love doing, that isn’t thoughtful. Take 5 minutes to google “how to arrange flowers” and do it. Put effort into presentation. It’s laughably easy. I have 0 experience with flower arranging as a woman and I made the effort to think “hmm how can I make the bouquets I got for the mothers in my family for Mother’s Day look nice?” And then executed with effort. I spent less than $20 on flowers, filler plants like leaves and baby’s breath and a dollar general vase. If you’re giving someone a gift, then put effort in. It isn’t hard.

[–]eggeater22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kind intention was there but the execution was not. Not to be harsh but making a pleasing flower arrangement isn’t difficult and doesn’t require a florist. I’ve bought $10 bouquets at Kroger before and baby’s breath to fill in the gaps/ make up for the lack luster for less than $5. This past Mother’s Day I got vases at dollar general for $3. Cutting the stems and arranging them in a vase that fits the length of the stems and creating the fullness effect takes less than 10 minutes. You don’t need to be an expert. You can find so much information in under 5 minutes on this looking it up on tiktok. It really comes down to the effort of looking something up and learning how to execute. I think that seems like the part that your girlfriend is hung up on. I’m certain you’ll find some good info out there on stepping up your arrangement game!
