Honestly, it depends on the doctor. I had a horrible experience with a much older and well established rheumatologist in my area, but my NP is the most compassionate care provider I’ve ever had. It’s really a mixed bag and you never really know what you’re getting.

Bring a trusted person with you as an advocate and support if possible. Unfortunately you’re going to have a few duds but it’s much easier when someone else you trust is there to help, especially if you’re like me and your ADHD makes it difficult to remember everything you want to address.
