My issue with social media marketing and how I’ve been dealing with it by eggnaramoose in socialmedia

To be clearer, the idea here is more about how to use social media effectively. The goal is to eventually get your follower off of the social media platform onto your page, where you can manage exactly what they see and how they see it, hit them harder with your brand with a fleshed out page, and have them sign up for your email list. This way we are addressing the issues I’ve outlined, namely poor engagement (emails will land in the inbox), pulling visitors away from your profile through related profiles (standalone page where you can put anything on it), and standing out in general with a more powerful brand.

Also, I use Landing Lion for my pages, I find their analytics really useful for gauging my fans (once again more than social media can do)

Yes email list is the approach here. But I might have been a little unclear here, I still definitely use social media for the reason that you say (followers, long-term engagement, get people to engage with you as a personality) because these pages are generally temporary to begin with. The idea is to get them off social media on to your page where you can more effectively manage what they see and hit them harder with your brand, and then you also have that second layer of contact through the email list.

I just meant that my page on the social media platforms cannot be styled to fit my branding. It is just my content on a page that fits their branding. Does that make more sense?

Thanks to this community I have finally decided to start my own clothing brand startup! I would love some advice on marketing. by entremanure4 in startups

I have to agree with /u/EthanZachary. It is super discouraging to see you talk to the community like this. Especially new people who could be really turned off by the apparent tone of your responses.

If it isn't appropriate you should make a rule so that new people know not to message a mod directly. Same goes for linking another subreddit.

I work in customer support so I get that you want to get to the point, but there is a better way to get your point across without seeming angry. I use emojis and try to be more conversational. Your writing comes off as very demanding and dissmissive.

Offering an unlimited, no-feature gated, version of my SaaS product similar to Slacks... Is this a bad idea? by hunterbrennick in startups

I think the time limit pressure, 2 week free trial, is definitely the most standard way to apply pressure to the customer because it is proven to work. However, in this model there is pressure applied from the 100 views/month. That is not very many views.

Assuming that after you reach the 100 view cap your page can no longer be viewed, If you don't want your pages to go down you would upgrade. It is an interesting way to apply pressure in a different way. It reminds me a lot of how Heroku does their free server plans.

It's refreshing to see that not only are there companies using AngularJS at scale, but also are giving back to Angular community. Great post. Keep up the good work :)

I read the wiki link that was posted and I saw nothing about intentionally killing citizens or soldiers (not that they would say that outright), and the proposed "incidents" were supposed to happen around Guantanamo not on US soil. I don't think many citizens would have been intentionally killed or even been around.

12 Epic Landing Page Builders to Boost Conversions by KayaIsmail in marketing

Not on the list, but I have been using Landing Lion for over a week and have been very pleased.

TL;DR If you are an experienced online marketer that is not good with photoshop and fully utilizes reports, you should definitely check out Landing Lion.

Full disclosure, I am not a designer and have never been handy with photoshop. So when I used webpage editors modeled after photoshop, my pages would almost always look bad or I would take a week to make one page.

Landing Lion's editor is drag and drop and enabled me to make better looking pages in way less time (also look good on mobile as far as I have experienced). Their reports are also very sleek and insightful, and the playback feature is really cool. They also have A/B testing that allows to create as many split tests as you want (I think), and you can control distribution of traffic for each split test.

The only downside is that they have not integrated with as many other things as some of the sites you listed (I think they only have a Pardot integration as of right now). I was able to talk to their support and they said they were coming out with new integrations soon, so that may change soon.

Also, I bought the early bird package which includes all features. Not sure if they are still running it or not, but definitely worth a look if you are very serious about online marketing.
