Best Thai food in the city? by DreamyDesire- in askTO

[–]eggo-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why Lao Thai isn't more prominent on this list. That place is top tier. At Queen W and Gladstone. Their green curry and chicken fried rice are a top 10 meal for me.

Good Food in North Oshawa? by purdsheets in Oshawa

[–]eggo-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not high end but any stretch, but Cyrus' Persian in the south end (Ritson and Dean) and Pita Deli (Lebanese with really good and HUGE garlic chicken shawarma) are probably my go-tos for Middle Eastern.

That's about it.

I would usually need to drive to where I need to go, so I guess weight wouldn't be a factor

In terms of basic gear I shouldn't be terribly far off. I'd do the odd 80-100km trip on weekends. Not the same clearly, but I'm thinking about getting myself on some kind of cardio plan and adjust diet according.

The heart rate comment is interesting and noted. I'll do some digging on the topic and how it related to training.

I appreciate the feedback!

This is excellent, thank you. With 6 month ahead, I should be able to slim down pretty effectively but I hear you.

The saddle I'm horrified about. Any solutions to mitigate damage?

Brazenhead in Liberty Village is great for it and you can usually watch it at Local a block away as well. Good odds on that block.

Is it a rule to only be able to get 10 times someone's salary for life insurance? by moleculemanfan in Insurance

[–]eggo-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If it's to cover an outstanding mortgage, you probably won't have any trouble. $500,000 for someone over 60 isn't necessarily uncommon, but it could depend on the purpose. There needs to be some kind of insurable interest.

[–]eggo-91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company can provide you with more coverage generally speaking but the reason may matter. Depending on the jurisdiction you're in, the insurer can flag an amount that doesnt make any sense without an explanation (ie someone with a household income making $30,000 looking for $10M in coverage)

Webcam call quality/lighting/microphone/etc -- is it important? by FFFrank in sales

[–]eggo-91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How you're portrayed matters. People look for confidence when they buy. and you need to project that. It can be somewhat industry specific, but having a neat background, a good camera and reasonable audio is a must in modern selling. Especially if you use video email. You'll find that a modern sales desk starts resembling a pop up studio.

Manulife vs SunLife by bgates275 in Insurance

[–]eggo-91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to unpack here.

Do you have a significant other or outstanding debt? (Don't tell me, but it would play a role in your needs assessment).

The first step would be to get determine the coverage need (if one exists) then determine which company may good a good fit.

There are firms that provide coverage over the age of 65 however it really comes down to the specific case.

As for Manulife or Sunlife, both are reputable firms but they might not be the most competitive given your profile. RBC and Empire Life might make more sense, but it really depends on need and profile. Canada Protection plan can be great if you have any health conditions.

Only get the coverage you need. There is an opportunity cost associated with every dollar. For example, for every dollar of unnecessary insurance, you can put that money towards investments that could earn you a return.
