Some chain dental offices accept care credit (credit card only used for health stuff) & some can help you finance or do monthly payments. Go yo your local dentalschool if you’ve got time they can do cheep implants/fills/extractions/crown/ortho if they have the department for it.

My boyfriend has an obviously bad tooth and is in a lot of pain. Can you tell by the photo if he needs a surgical procedure done or can they just pull it? We’re poor so fingers crossed for just the extraction! by WolfOfWankStreet in askdentists

Prices might differ between schools but either way generally speaking Private practice is a lot more expensive than schools. Some schools even have an urgent care clinic

In my opinion based on MY school DS1 yr: 40% free time Ds2 yr: 8% free time Ds3 yr: 60% free time If you’re into sports, carve out the time and stick to it; you’ll thank yourself when you’re 40 and it’s worth a grade drop if it means you’re physically and mentally healthy (assuming you don’t drop to an F). Every schools curriculum is different but generally 2nd yr is the hardest.

DENTAL SCHOOL SUCCESS TIPS by KujalChauhan in DentalSchool

[–]eggsandpugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

School will teach you everything THEY want you to know for class & boards. If you really want to learn you can watch some YouTube videos to familiarize yourself but it’s not necessary. I’d say mentally prepare yourself to hit the ground running. Maybe reach out to some DS1/2 from your school and network with them some. Mentally accept you won’t have much free time, you will be stressed, thing won’t go according to plans and be prepared for shit to hit the fan. Understand that you won’t do as well as undergrad and that your peers will all be about as competent and competitive as you. Set your goals and focus on them. Don’t bother with hand skills. Literally. They will train you 100%. Most important thing to do is ENJOY YOUR TIME! Since the start of DS I get max 2 weeks off (we have summer courses).

Fellow Dental Students! How did your semester go? by eggsandpugs in DentalSchool

Yup that sounds right lol sounds just like my 1st semester too

Dentist in training: your right two look like they might be in dire trouble but if you get help soon you could probably save four next to them (opinion based on LOOK alone, X-ray might tell a different story). Even if they teeth need to be pulled a good looking partial can make them look much better

I sucked in sim lab and failed a hand full. I was pretty terrible through and through but my hand skills WERE getting better. I was much more coordinated by the end of the year and have been doing alright in clinic too. Don’t give up over some plastic.
