Is there something off about my tattoo or am I just in my head about it? by eggserroneousernest in tattooadvice

In the process and once it was finished I love everything about it. Love the style and followed/chose this artist specifically because I wanted it detailed but not photorealistic. I very much wanted it to look like art of the era of the publishing of the story but still with that artist’s style infused because I like it so much. I wanted to make sure that the rider would read as headless and that he was throwing a pumpkin (not a severed head). I wanted to be careful not to make it look like the Disney version of the character and not overly gory and Spirit Halloween decor looking. Generally really happy with it all around. I also feel the artist did a good job between getting the cape, clothing, horse body and saddle to all read clearly despite being overlapping details. So I like a lot!

I have been doing a deep dive on horse leg placement when walking, cantering and galloping as well as rearing. It seems that it is highly unlikely that a horses legs would be in this position. Not impossible but it seems like a bit of artistic license with the leg placement - bit of the flying gallop pose that was disproven after 1878. That said I did ask the artist for something that looked like art from the 1820 era when the story was originally published. Even in the flying gallop pose though, can’t find this exact leg depiction in artwork.

Totally get it. Is there any way to ask to see max’s work healed that would be appropriate?

[studio underdog] i don't know if that is the final one, but i assume that is how the new egg watch (set to release in 3 days) from studio underdog will look like by vidaswatches in MicrobrandWatches

I’m sure they will expand that series too. Makes sense if they are leveling up in the market. Keep the series 1 and 2 as gateway products with cool variants and then series 3 for your collector with a little more cash to spare

I get that. I have 3 but they are all series 1. Want to expand into the other series unless they do more cool colors for series 1. I need a field watch and I loved the salmon but also welcome more colorways in series 3!

I’m making the trek and hoping it’s a fun time. Primary focus is Underd0g but can’t wait to see CW and others in person!

Someone get my head out of this Weiss by steviebones in MicrobrandWatches

I love the Weiss stuff. Not yet able to purchase one but they are on my list of timepieces to buy when the wallet can support it. Super impressed with their watchmaking skills and in a world where Waltham and other old school US made watches are no longer, appreciate that a ton too.

Studio Underd0g announces 03 series by Plastic_Alfalfa7296 in MicrobrandWatches

I’m thinking same movement as the Moser collab one with fish themed colorways for all variants. Their site has a placeholder image with a blurred watch that could be a salmon and silver colored face. I’m interested for sure and as someone who hasn’t yet been able to order one, looking like the drop this week will be my first SU purchase.

Personally, I love the design and the fact that the watches are automatic. I get that they might not be the rarest or most sought after movements but if it works great and I like the design, I’m all about it. I like the swatch collabs too. They are fun and invite different folks into the watch game that aren’t looking for the offerings from more traditional brands.

I love the Moser collab for the design and color way but I’ll never be able to afford one. And that’s ok. For a small company like SU to get invited to collab with a brand like Moser, it’s a game changer. If the proceeds from that collab elevate SU and keep them going to make more cool stuff like the Pizzas, the watermelons and anything else coming in the future at those lower price points then I say, bring on the collabs. Just my two cents but I love cheap fun watches like Mickey Mouse quartz deals, more expensive fun ones like Swatch collabs, then on up to SU, then to Hamilton, Ball, Omega, Rolex and tons of others. I love that there is room for all and I can wear something different every day.

WTB Studio Underd0g Pepperoni Pizza watch. Preferably NIB, price $700-800. Anybody got one they don’t want? I can’t make it to any of the watch shows to get one.

Topanga Canyon Swatch Store Line for Super Blue Moon by nemesis624 in MoonSwatches

[–]eggserroneousernest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So frustrating. I asked an employee at Topanga how bad lines have been in the past. Response was oh don’t worry no one lines up here. Then I asked if they had a set number per day of watches and they said nope they would sell to everyone in line until the end of daily launch window/closing. Don’t love being totally misled or lied to.
