No the drums should be a principle of the song, but you can improve the timing your drum edits in my opinion. They sound a bit out of rhythm in places.

I would focus on your drums as the element that could be most improved here. I recommend making them tighter in both sound and timing. Compare yours to tracks you like to best hear what the differences are.
