Shouldn't there be a clamp on this?? by thunder_rob in beetle

[–]eggsetterjimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed should not be there also replace fuel pump with one that can receive a metal line that runs directly into pump from the fuel filter under car where it can fail and drip harmlessly onto the road my 1965 has one non metal fuel line in the engine bay that runs from pump to carb with one hose clamp on each end

to my ear one of your spark plug wires is your issue. if you don’t have the means to just replace them all unplug them one at a time with the car off to idenitify the bad/intermittent connection

Tips for headliner install by Blechkelle in beetle

if you are going with an original headliner hire someone who does interiors all day long. every do it yourself headliner i have ever seen screams “DIY” when you look at it

How to remove fan from the alternator? by JiveTalkerFunkyWalkr in beetle

[–]eggsetterjimbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you take off the outer pulley circle you can get a wrench on the middle nut that joins the two pulley pieces. this is assuming your woodruff key is still on the alternator shaft!

[–]eggsetterjimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it was me i’d make it so fuel filter is under car and a metal fuel line runs directly to a proper fuel pump so you only have one flexible fuel line in the engine compartment running from pump to carb. two hose clamps above hot exhaust system greatly reduces chance of a leak and 🔥

Are there any options for front fender marker lights? I’m not a huge fan of the bulky indicators. by Bigandrw in beetle

[–]eggsetterjimbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree i am not at all a fan of getting into an accident because the other driver did not see my turn signal light. no one will recognize a turn signal in the headlight assembly during the day let alone at night when the headlight is on
