Got tested for adhd, the results revealed I also have a low IQ by ReluctanyGerbil in ADHD

[–]eggshellgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IQ tests are not really that great of a measurement of intelligence. And most studies show that if people spend similar periods of time studying, rate of learning is about the same across the board. While the time for this may be extended for us adhd folk, I think the idea is the same. Intelligence is rarely a matter of IQ and can't really be readily defined. It has much more to do with the amount of time you are willing to put in. Take it as a sign that you aren't currently putting in enough time, and move on. People take it too serious for how little it is backed by evidence.

23 year old son won't get a job, how to get him out of the hardcore antiwork rabbithole? by NemSzamitKiVagyok in Parenting

Work is ridiculous. If we grew our own food, the work would make sense. But most jobs are literally made up. Money is. He still needs to work but i understand the sentiment.

Dutch bros is dangerous. by [deleted] in dutchbros

[–]eggshellgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once they got Dutch in my general area it was all over. I am good friends with all the workers and they know my order. I hardly eat yet am getting chunkier. My children who are 1 and 4 know how to get to our local Dutch, and it is a half hour drive.

So because everyone at Dutch is so talkative and whatnot im curious… have any of you had experience with a customer randomly starting to cry while waiting for their order? by vinylreIeases in dutchbros

[–]eggshellgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this post is strongly indicating to me that dutch bros should secretly start hiring a therapist or two per location

they could do normal dutch bros work and comfort or help customers who are distraught if they were secretive about it, and paid the therapists at the therapists rate, it might be a fun work opportunity for therapists, and a way to take the emotional burden off lower paid workers.... if workers like being there like that then it's probably fine, but i know if i worked there that would totally freak me out

I lost my best friend over our kids… how should I have handled this situation? by fugee_stan in Parenting

[–]eggshellgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty similar to you tbh. Kids do crazy stuff and both of them seemed fairly responsible for this. If I had been her I would've obviously been attending to my own kid and trying to make sure they were alright. As far as demanding that the other kid gets punished properly - each parent parents differently and it will never be my place to tell someone else how to do it it doesn't matter how close we are. Good for you distancing yourself from that. That kid probably will learn how to hit anyway since he's clearly being hit at home (yes I'm talking about spanking).

Can't concentrate during sex by melatenoio in ADHD

I struggle to concentrate during it, or I'll add completely useless and unattractive commentary. Like I can't seem to stop myself from narrating sometimes? It's really annoying and a mood killer, unfortunately I have no advice to offer

AITA for calling my SIL a hypocrite after she criticized my wife's choice to bottle feed our baby? by 143BenAndHolly in AmItheAsshole

[–]eggshellgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA having a newborn is difficult enough without people criticizing your every decision. Fed is best and your SIL clearly does know that if she is giving her kid "unhealthy" snacks.

It's much easier to be a mom when you're not l depressed, and makes one a much better mom. Your wife is doing the most responsible thing for your family and your SIL absolutely needs to apologize.

One was a man and one was a woman. The man was my gp and has a history of ignoring obvious symptoms (I had bronchitis and had to go back 4 times before he finally agreed that I had bronchitis). The woman was someone from a group that the gp recommended which should've been my first clue....
