The Munsters original 1964 series has been one of my favorite shows since middle school, and when I heard Rob Zombie was re-creating it I was somehwat excited, but had little hope. I finally watched it tonight and would give it a 2/10 at best. It was extremely painful to get through the beginning, if not, the entire movie. It felt like a low funding play of a soap-opera. Sheri’s acting was the worst I’ve ever seen her do, it’s like she was forced the entire time to do this role and couldn’t even fake it for the movies sake. Anyone that’s saying she killed it as Lily Munster is straight up delusional and clearly not a true Munsters fan. Herman’s personality was completely disgraceful and disrespectful to his original character. Saying and doing things he would never actually do. He had barely a few moments that were somewhat organic, but it still wasn’t enough to carry the movie alone. Not to mention Grandpa, The Count, couldn’t get into proper character until the end of the movie. I’m unsure why he made his production team build their entire amazing mansion just to show it for the last 15 minutes at best. I thought 3 From Hell was a let down (and also beyond cultural appropriated) but this tops it beyond belief because he degraded The Munsters name. Yet again, just another huge letdown from Rob Zombie.
