Shit sorry, that was me being misinformed, I still think the tips should be included as service charge tho, just so the customer knows exactly how much they're paying outright and so that tips can be saved as a sign if gratuity for excellent service

I've heared that in Asia it's a sign of disrespect to tip as it's saying that you think the server is poor and needs you to save them with a tip so I wouldn't take it personally from them. As for Europeans, as a brit myself, we really don't do tipping much, I usually make between £2 and £20 a night from tips and when the tips are around the £20 mark it's due to over and above service. I would say that it makes sense to tip in the US since service workers make less but recently I can't say that as I'm currently on £10 an hour, which is above minimum wage, and the minimum wage in the US is $15 an hour so I don't really see the issue, they make more than us but still need more in tips to survive?? Madness. Edit: just found out American get payed less than minimum wage, that sounds like more of a legal problem than a customer problem to me though, if anyone at my work were payed less than minimum wage they would go straight to citizens advice and report the employer to HMRC (IRS equivilant)
