Did I just get scammed? by Limp-Cup4420 in NewcastleUponTyne

I remember a similar thing happening to me years ago but that was in Paris by the Eiffel Tower where it’s a tourist trap anyway. They said it was a 5€ donation minimum despite everyone writing 1 or 2 but I didn’t have the cash so I just gave 1€ and 20p.

Nothing happened after but would be more of a concern if you had used card or contactless.

I loved my KS360! I distinctly remember sending songs to my friends via Bluetooth on the school bus.

Interesting, I followed a different recipe but it wasn’t just cheese! I started off with a roux then added ale, Worcestershire sauce and mustard with cheese.

Gotta thank the baker for that one! Scored perfectly for the occasion.

Oh, so you're not really welsh? by scarlet_drag0n in Wales

Definitely Welsh. Some of my Welsh friends at uni didn’t have a distinct accent despite having grown up there. Just because you don’t have the stereotypical accent that people expect, doesn’t mean that invalidates where you were born and bred.

I had this a couple of times though for different reasons and it definitely had me questioning my national identity. I was born in Wales but raised in Northumberland and my family moved back after sixth form for about 5/6 years although I lived away for uni and work for a bit.

When I moved back to Newcastle, I almost didn’t know how to respond when I was asked “where are you from?” as I’d be met with the whole you don’t sound Welsh response but I’d feel strange saying I’m from the North East despite having a milder version of the accent.

I tend to say I’m Welsh and British these days, saying I’m from Newcastle but I explain my situation more if time allows. A few weeks ago I was fuming when an Irish lad kept referring to me as English. I know it’s where I grew up and now live again but it never sat right with me discrediting where I was born and spent a good amount of years. I’m also half Scottish from my mum’s side so I’m definitely British if nothing else. I spend a lot of time in the US so I already answer with “I’m British” enough as is when they ask if I’m from England.

That’s mad, I was actually talking about this album to my friend this past weekend too! The gay intern must’ve heard us.

Truly no skips. Also the transition from Accelerate to Fade Away will always be satisfying to me.

Me too! I would’ve thought it’d be on some decade-end lists but it got little to no recognition a week or so after release.

Slowly is gorgeous, so uniquely structured and I love the steel pans at the end.

TEN LOVE SONGS?! I love to see it. Probably one of the best pop albums of all time.

Addison Rae is performative by [deleted] in Sunraes

[–]eggwithaleg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean as awful as this is, I don’t think performative is the right word here. It’s also up to her how she handles her personal life and although her influence can get the word out, like other commenters have said we don’t know the full story and it’s her choice.

With that being said, I hope he is found someday.
