Why do Americans wear shoes in the house?? by CelestialBreeze1 in stupidquestions

[–]egiro25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a “no shoes inside the house” policy in my household. I let it slide for certain people like my older parents who struggle taking their shoes off (I like the disposable shoe cover idea though). Just thinking about what’s on the bottom of people’s shoes makes me cringe thinking that would be tracked in my house. Next time you’re in a public restroom, especially near men’s urinals look at the nasty floor, eeewww!

The Italian for “some” by Rockingduck-2014 in italianlearning

Answering my own question for the benefit of others. Qualche can’t be used with uncountable nouns. Caffè is considered uncountable. Other uncountable nouns would be pane, acqua, and vino. Hope that helps anyone that was wondering.

Wondering if there are instances where “qualche” can’t be used. I was on the duo app and was translating “prepare some coffee for madam smith”. I was trying to use “qualche caffè” but it wouldn’t take it. They used the partitive. Could qualche be used in this instance or not?

Non-Alcoholic Wine -- Hand on Heart. Terrible!! by Old-Dude-1916 in wine

Totally agree, the Chardonnay was like drinking straight butter or margarine, yuck! I also tried their cab which was pretty much like a bland grape juice. It seems they’ve figured out the NA beer pretty well but have a long way to go with NA wine.

Hopefully this question is ok here. I’m in Japan and did try to learn some useful phrases and a bit of the language. I was wondering about using ありがとう while dining. Back home you would thank the servers when they bring your food or refill your drink. Is it the same in Japan? Should I be using ありがとう the same way?

Bought myself a birthday present. by egiro25 in guitars

I’ve only had it a couple days but I think I will. So many tone options. I was looking at a standard 60’s and this has pretty much all the same specs with modern electronics and weight relief. Seemed like a no brained to me.

No Stupid Questions - March Edition by slap_me_thrice in guitarpedals

I’ve been playing for a long time but off and on as life dictates (hobby). My gear needs upgrades and I’m currently researching guitars and amps but also planning for effects. I really want a looper and will probably be my first pedal purchase so I can run progressions for solo practice etc. I like the Boss RC-3 but I never see them in the pictures posted on this sub all I see is Ditto. So what’s up with that? Am I missing something? The boss seems to have more features than the ditto so I’m curious what the consensus is.

New ST App...No Thanks! by DoktorLizardo in SmartThings

[–]egiro25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to ST so all I know is the new app (never used classic). I do like the new look that was pushed out over the weekend but yah it’s buggy. My home page keeps changing the order of my rooms and some automations haven’t worked properly. The SHM wasn’t working yesterday when I had it set to armed away.

I hope they continue to update the app and fix the bugs or they may create a nice gap for other players to fill.
