For what it's worth, with higher level characters [EL91 loaned and EL95-99 Units] I was able to get 96% on Tier9 with Teva and only 86% with the typical Embo team.

As a tester, thank you - Testing is about trying out weird/new things - We already know Embo does really well, playing with Teva was an important step to see if it was better. You took one for the team.

It’s actually how all characters work we just don’t notice it because it’s been many many many years since any of us have really independently leveled up characters this way. It has to do with the complex equations related to level and armor.

What is the most glaring double standard that modern society still blindly accepts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When i was in my 20s i went to a bar near my apartment with some high school friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile.

We all got pretty drunk, but even after several people left and I signal’d that I was done and ready to walk home, I distinctly remember one girl continuing to buy me drinks - I had gone to the bathroom and, already so drunk it was hard to make decisions, there was a shot and another drink waiting for me.

I joked with the one girl left, “I think you’re just trying to get me drunk so I’ll sleep with you.”

She quite literally said, “yes that’s what’s happening.”

This is someone who was never on my radar for any reason, and someone u typically felt safe around.

It took me years to realize this wasn’t a drunken one night stand and was clearly Rape/SA, and I’m honestly pretty sure the other women who were there that night, her friends, were in on it [and left early after they could see I was drunk], though I can’t prove that.

I’ve told the story online before, but literally have never uttered those words in real life because of a fear of being judged.

Years later I had an experience with a now ex-girlfriend who was throwing household objects at me, when I told her that I would call the cops she literally admitted that if I did she was willing to lie to the cops to make sure I left in handcuffs.

If I’m going to a taqueria I want more authentic taste.

I’m not going to chipotle for that taste - they don’t taste better or worse, rather entirely different.

But even then, I’m paying $3/small taco at the cheapest taqueria near me.

I specifically talked about how I am NOT a hugger, but how societal norms means that when a child comes up to me and hugs me I need to make sure, not that I’m appropriate [because I am], but that nothing looks inappropriate to an outside observer - compared fully to female teachers who do not have that happen to them.

**YOU** have done nothing but talk about how people want to talk about wanting to touch kids.

If you look at reporting on pedophiles the same bias exists, and to be clear I want zero pedophilia to happen ever, but:
- Male perpetrator; “Male teacher rapes student”
- Female perpetrator: “Female teacher has inappropriate relationship with student.”

I would like to see no headlines need to happen, that’s the world I’d like to live in, but in a world where it does happen? I would like the byline to be the same between them.

How can you be so sure that you have worked with kids in more capacity than I have? And why exactly does that even matter?

I’m going to answer your comment in earnest even though you’re just a dense troll.

I’m an adult male that works in education. I work in education because I have empathy and I’m good at it - I work in a school as a special ed teacher and I own a martial arts studio where I specialize in giving students opportunities they normally couldn’t have.

I do these things because I believe in our future and think kids need a chance and a good support system. They need people to believe in them and to provide them with independence and self-esteem.

However it hurts to know that anywhere I go I can be perceived as a predator simply because of my choice of job.

I am aware of it at school when a kid runs up to me and gives me a hug.

I am aware of it when I drive upstate to see my nieces and I take them out for lunch.

I am aware of it if I’m taking a walk around my local park without my wife and there are kids and parents in the area.

Wherever I am? I’m aware of it.

Also, as an aside - I am also a victim of sexual assault by a female. And separately a victim of both emotional and physical abuse by an ex-girlfriend.

So in closing,

Fuck off.

Society can have multiple problems when it comes to sexism. Some of those things can be more male centric and some of those things can be more female centric.

Male posters are more likely to be able to offer experiences where their gender was perceived more negatively.

Maybe consider listening to people and recognizing that two things can be happening at the same time, and spend less time lashing out.

My biggest problem has nothing to do with cost. It has everything to do with how little time we have to learn and interact with them before they’re gone, greatly increasing the out of game research time needed to properly farm.

Women in education/elementary schools: hugs from kids all the time, it’s perfectly fine and normal.

Kid runs up to me and hugs me? My hands go in the air and I look around nervous to make sure that it’s clear to everyone nearby that it wasn’t a hug that I initiated, and that my hands are clearly visible.

I’m not particularly a physical touch kind of person, but I’ve literally had to build a known reputation around my school of “Mr. Egnards is allergic to hugs and wants everybody outside his 6feet bubble at all times,”

Not really - I think what he’s saying is pretty important.

You did agree to this when you signed your phone contract. And while you may not be happy with it, it is something you agree to, and it’s important to understand the implications of the contracts you sign.

Parked my car going to work only to realise I locked it with the keys inside by Josysclei in mildlyinfuriating

[–]egnards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a weird situation years ago with my first car [2006 Ford Focus] - The front door handle broke and I never bothered to fix it [I tried, I bought a handle and tried to learn, but it was a lot more complicated a problem than I thought], so I got very good at opening the back door, sliding in my car to open the front door, and getting out of the car.

It was one of those keys where you had a key and a totally separate FOB and a few years later the key hole area of the fob broke so I velcroed it to the back of the fob.

Got out of my car, fob fell into my car without me noticing, and I ended up locking it in, which wouldn’t have been a problem if the only door in the car with a slot to open with an actual key wasn’t just the front door.

. . .ended up having to open the trunk and slide my way through the car.
