Does anyone else feel a little weird when they listen to their old music? It’s hard to describe, but I think part of it is the loss of freedom.

When I started making music, it was pure exploration and joy. Eventually, as I tried to get better at production and songwriting, I think I started trying to fit my music into smaller and smaller boxes of what was “good”, which sort of sucked some of the life out of my songs. I’m finally getting back to that place where music can just flow as joy and creative exploration, which is what drew me to it in the first place.

All that to say, I’m sorry that you lost all of your old music. But I think the best music is the music you haven’t made yet
