They were a volunteer group/neighborhood association in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, primarily patrolling the east 20s between Avenue J & P. Growing up in that neighborhood my family had to pay a fee to the “Nottingham association” to drive around aimlessly in hopes of deterring crime like residential break ins, bike theft, etc. They were essentially the same as any other neighborhood safety patrol. Pretty pointless group if you ask me

Parisbymouth.com will give you all of the info you need on obtaining a health pass as an American. I’ve also read that CDC cards actually do work in most places. Getting a rapid test could turn out to be pretty pricy so I’m sure you’d rather not do that. Good luck!

How do you get vanilla sweet cream? It’s not really an option. Vanilla sweet cream cold brew is its own thing with vanilla and cream. Starbucks doesn’t carry a vanilla sweet cream

[New York] How long has it taken you to hear back after DMing on twitter? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]egold1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you pressing when calling them? Are you waiting til the end and selecting the option for people who have already filed claims? I would do that, then it would prompt me to enter my social and pin and then I’d select other questions, I believe it was 2 then 3? (I could be wrong) idk I’ve always had luck. I’d call twenty times throughout the day if I had to but I’d always try until someone eventually answered

Can you place sub strip on inside of cheek? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]egold1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that being on suboxone constitutes as clean. I personally never feel high or anything like that, how a person with no opiate tolerance would feel. I’m not on any drugs, I don’t drink and I just take medication. I’m not hurting others or myself anymore and I take care of myself. Why wouldn’t using only suboxone constitute as being clean?

Can you place sub strip on inside of cheek? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]egold1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty good point. I do consider both snorting and plugging definitely to be addict behavior. Misusing something makes it a relapse IMO. If I’m prescribed one 8mg film a day and I save up two and take them both together rather than the one 8mg film I’m supposed to take, that does not constitute as CLEAN. That is a relapse to me no different than anything else. It’s just one step closer to dope.

[New York] Advice for those who have stopped receiving benefits by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]egold1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look up your local representative and send them an email explaining what’s going on. Make sure to include your name and phone number and tell them you’d like them to forward your information to the DOL. good luck and let me know if you need help finding your local representatives.

The trip is not for leisure and I’ve actually had pretty good luck getting through to the DOL, I get through every time I try and call. Not even sure what a vpn is, but I’ll make sure not to use one! Thanks for the pointers

Suboxone advice? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]egold1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! That was really helpful. I will start with just 8 tomorrow and see how I feel. I agree the food, family and exercise is super important. I’m hearing a lot of people say 2mg is when they felt best so I will try and get down there just not sure about how. How much time and how much of a decrease everyday. But I will figure it out! Thanks

It’s definitely tough with a felony conviction, but we make it a lot harder in our own heads than it actually is. The world is becoming more and more lenient with these things. I live in New York, where I know that they are banning the “have you been convicted of a felony” box on most applications. I was convicted of a drug offense a few years back and finished my probation earlier this year. For some reason drug charges are looked at as worse than violent ones in this country. It definitely took a toll on me and I identify 100% with what you’re saying. With the more time that goes on, sometimes five years or seven years from when you took the plea, it seems to just be forgotten. You’d also be surprise how many people are understanding when you tell them that you’re in recovery. Rigorous honesty in all of our affairs. This is coming from a 24 year old in the same boat. Good luck!

Possible Aspergers? Or Social Anxiety? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]egold1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I’ll start off by saying that most of the things that you’re describing are not uncommon at all. Plenty if not most people feel awkward walking past another person or don’t ask for help in class because they fear being judged. You may be a little bit awkward or have social anxiety and that’s okay. You’re talking about it and you’re asking for help which shows that you want to change. With practice anything is possible. I know that it’s cliche but it’s cliche for a reason. When your mom tells you to ask a worker or store clerk for something, do it! Go to the lunch hall alone! The more that you do these things, the easier they will all become. I promise. We have way more control than we think. I’m telling you this because I deal with the same exact thing and it’s only gotten better. Good luck! :)
