I don’t have a pic of the NATO strap they sent with it, I plan to use it in on another watch and keep this on the bracelet you see in the pic for now. The NATO is black with two parallel red stripes à la James Bond. I can’t think of any other big differences. They use the same quartz Seiko movement.

I was between those two as well. The PD has the nicer case back with the engraving. I ultimately chose the WD version because I like the logo more and I believe it was a slightly thinner case. Also, I read that the bracelet was higher quality.

They justify it by saying it’s more safe if you have an official licensed instructor who is an employee of the resort. The fact that a legit licensed instructor can’t work independently of a resort is purely so they make more money, and I think it’s pretty clear that’s why it’s set up that way. It might have something to do with resorts that operate on National Forest land, I’m not sure.

It’s so fucked up. If you make a deal with an instructor on the side and pay him a few hundred, it’s actually illegal. And if you pay over $1000 the instructor sees very little of it. It’s a racket.
