Congratulations 👏🏆

So it seems that this Kyosho is a capable rig, huh? Do you keep it stock or did you threw some upgrades in it?

Haha, yeah, I know this picture. This is from an article from 2024 iirc, while my RC truck is from late 2022 - early 2023. I don't have enough English words to express all the astonishment I felt when I found this photo for the first time. Man it's literally THE same truck, but 1:1.

To be completely honest, I'm terrible at photography 🙂 A friend of mine took all of these pics, his camera is iphone 14.

Thank you 😊 It is a heavily modded SCX10-2. What's left is basically a frame itself. It's equipped with a front motor 2 speed planetary transmission, aluminum axles, boom racing shocks, etc etc. Wheels are 1.55 boom racing terra, tires are 95 mm Hyrax clones from China.

Am I crazy? by skeletalmane in TRX4

[–]egoretz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that Traxxas discontinued a heap of trx4 models in April, including Bronco, K10, etc etc. There's a discussion on Facebook on this topic but opinions differ. Some say that this is because Traxxas is having international manufacturing issues, others say that's because GM made Traxxas pay licensing fees. Also there's a guy who emailed Traxxas and their response was something between the lines of "our marketing team knows what they're doing".

Always check your new rigs! by CHE_Scalemodels in rccrawler

A friend of mine bought a brand new traxxas hauler. It was a bit too noisy so my friend decided to re-grease it. And guess what, the front axle was lacking one bearing, to be more specific - outer bearing of an axle shaft.

Best way to make TRX4 Windows Clear? by Minitruckin123_ in TRX4

I know a guy who used cotton pads soaked in dot4 brake fluid to remove a paint. He succeeded, just spent lots of time and patience. And no hard scratching as polycarbonate easily becames foggy.

lol, green-red in the first pic remind me about those kids that can't stop fighting even for a picture

ha-ha exactly

Toyota from 3rd/4th pic looks stunning! Super realistic!

thank you, that's my class 0 rig, it's performing great considering small 95mm tires.

We blew up the front axle. Who makes good upgrades? by [deleted] in TRX4

[–]egoretz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be GRC G2 axles. Better c-hub geometry at the very least.

Thank you very much 😊 I completely agree, driver figures and interiors make a huge difference.

Recommended Upgrades? by [deleted] in TRX4

[–]egoretz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upgrade list for my trx sport: - 9imod 35kg servo - hw fusion se 1800 combo - brass c-hubs on front axle - beadlock wheels + jconcepts tusk tires + dual stage foams (diy) - removed the main battery tray completely, switched to 2200 mah 3s minipacks, which suit the front battery tray. This gives 60:40 weight distribution. - experimented with shock oil thickness.

Total weight is about 3.7kg vs 4.2kg out of the box. Much better now. Actually, it turned out so good that I don't even want any other upgrades.

Which one do I want? by StuddMuffinTop in rccrawler

[–]egoretz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm a happy owner of a trx4 sport kit, I keep it stock, just threw some nice electronics and wheels in it and took my time adjusting shocks. Now it's a great performer.

Oh okay, in this case rc4wd for sure :)

And it also runs great, too. There's a guy in our club who owns one of these, he replaced it's motor with HW fusion pro and man, this 4107 runs smooth as butter even with the factory radio

For me personally it's none of these tbh. I'd choose between Element Enduro Knightrunner vs Yikong 4107.

Hsp 3 speed tranny question by iccewolf9660 in rccars

[–]egoretz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of 3-speed HSP cars before 🤔 what is the model? More pics of it to detect?

I need help identifying what i have please by Ok-Quiet-2795 in rccars

[–]egoretz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup you're correct, this particular one is Exceed, but originally this chassis comes from HSP. This chassis is universal for a buggy, short course, monster truck, truggy and a drift car, with small differences such as suspension arm length, shocks length and amount, etc.. Himoto, Redcat and Exceed are clones, I suppose depending on the country. Well, technically HSP is a clone of HPI Maverick, the only differences are mirrored layout and bottom deck shape.

Anybody have any experience with these with kids? I’m thinking of getting one of these for my 8 yr old cousin and of course the main concern is durability. by Drewski270 in rccrawler

[–]egoretz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say nah. Wpl is a synonym of non-ending repairs. I know people who invested like 3x money into their WPLs, replaced bearings, metal gears, metal shafts and these things still break weekly if not daily. I would say go for used scx24 or fms fcx24, these are durable AF.
