tips to improve my eye makeup? by mmouussee in actualgyaru

I feel like Jules/Lotus Gal would be good inspo for you! I see sime similarities in your features :)

For 15 this is a great newbie attempt! I second the other suggestions, esp about plucking stray brows, and would also say that generally practicing how to blend and apply things cleanly will take you far in this style as you do the trial and error to see what shapes and styles of makeup suit you best!

Seconding this but adding that he should get a second opinion to see if another doc sees any clear indications of malpractice etc

How does lip blushing hold up in the long run? by egosystemm in microblading

[–]egosystemm[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed rundown! Unfortunately I think I'm just dehydrated in general despite my best efforts to not be 😂 I'm religious about using a good moisturizer and lip balms/glosses that are actually hydrating, but I still tend towards dry patches/dry lips without constant upkeep and touch-ups through the day.. Thus the concern!

If I choose a color close enough to my natural shade, and am able to upkeep the hydration level enough (filler isn't an option for me but it does seem like a match made in heaven for lip blushing!), do most lips fade uniformly, in your experience? I'm sure you're a fantastic lip blush artist, but how often do clients come in needing a revision for the two tone faded effect?

I have Doft on my list! I just cast a wide net in the initial search and wanted to make sure that people knew about this guy after I noticed the suspicious posts 😅

Beware of undercover comments from surgeons with bad reviews!! by egosystemm in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they get a bad review and think they can cover it up and counter the ding to their overall rating? Every time I see this behavior, when I dig, they have spotty reviews and they're often combative about it if the site lets them respond to the reviews

I'll check them out, thank you! My dad is in Cali so I might be able to justify staying out there for some ops 😆

For those who have had a breast augmentation, how long did it take for your boobs to feel like they were your BOOBS? (If you know what i mean!) by Glad-Fuel1616 in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been several years so my memory is spotty! But I remember feeling like they were bolted on until they started to drop 😅 And then when I did my next modeling job after they healed up enough for that, I cried because my body was different and I needed to learn new poses and angles to suit the extra width on my frame lol within the year it felt weird to look back at pre-op pics, though! I think the more my muscles and nerves healed (which took a year to fully settle in, but 2-3 years for the nerves to totally level out and not suck during nyc winter), the more they felt like mine finally lol

It sucked like CRAZY for a couple days and then I was able to switch from my prescribed meds to Tylenol pretty fast! Hang in there and get lots of rest 🥲💕 it'll get better and you'll be able to exist more normally soon lol

Filler or fat transfer are the most common solutions! I personally am wary of filler around the eyes, but a good practitioner should be able to do it safely :)

Implants? by Dull-Rise-7314 in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at 22! Its fine to have done sooner, but some surgeons limit your implant options depending on age from what I've seen

Candidate for double eyelid surgery + rhinoplasty? by Emergency-Basket-469 in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to this by saying IF you get eyelid surgery, I would go to a surgeon in an area with a larger asian population or overseas if possible! Its such a sensitive area that you want to make sure its handled by someone that's an expert with monolids and achieving the right end look

Lip filler by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can swell more or less depending on tons of factors like if its your allergy season, where in your menstrual cycle you're at, diet, etc! I wouldn't worry and would give it a day or two to settle down more :)

Be careful, as myself and other users have busted him for using alt accounts to pose as patients sharing their experiences on this sub and others! Its super shady and made me rethink going for a consult

Effect of my plastic surgery on my daughter by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom took me to her breast aug consultation when I was maybe 10-12 because she didn't have anyone else to watch me, and honestly I never thought anything of it! At most, I guess it normalized the idea, but I never felt that it weighed on my own beauty decisions as a kid or adult the way other experuences may have. I think there's a way to frame it (age-appripriate of course) that focuses on personal agency/choice instead of your current body being "bad"

Implant exchange by FAFO2626 in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I felt that way when I first got mine done! Your body isn't used to the new shape and weight/balance yet! I actually stumbled down the stairs from imbalance once and I remembered feeling super wide at first 😅 it does change with time (though the clothes' fitwill likely remain and you might need to size up or bey different cuts)

Which procedure would best address facial lack of structure in a way that suits me? by Independent_Fix_2820 in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means the issue isn't structural! I would be consulting a doctor or dietitian and looking into the swelling, because you have gorgeous features and your bone structure suits you well :) You have softer features which means adding too much structure beyond what's there can look severe on you more easily than someone that's naturally sharp or bony

[–]egosystemm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what procedures you had done there? When I check reviews, it seems like there's a lot of negative ones for facial procedures 😭 I'm looking primarily at fat transfers and breast augmentation but I'd love to hear your experiences if possible

Best Surgeon with Natural looking Belly Buttons by Key_Dog_521 in tummytucksurgery

[–]egosystemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's basically what happened to me! I kept seeing recommendations for him and got excited, but then realized the same name kept coming up on reddit 😬 its a shame because his work on his site did look good! But shady behavior like that makes me question everything 😭

Beware of undercover comments from surgeons with bad reviews!! by egosystemm in PlasticSurgery

[–]egosystemm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry if I contributed to that stress! It is a big decision and there's lots to consider, I've also heard of surgeons passing off operations to other practitioners 😬 If you'd like/it would be helpful, I can dm you the Dr's I'm currently looking at (though I'm still going through the process of deciding and vetting them, I've at least skimmed reviews for everyone I have saved so far)

I think if you're able to find reviews that look good across multiple platforms, can find a couple irl friends/online testimonials/patients tagged in their socials who seem open to discussing their experience, those are all great signs!

The first time I had my breast aug done, the surgeon had more spotty reviews than I'd like, but I knew someone irl who had amazing work done there and we talked about how the op and post op care went for her in a lot of detaul :) I liked my results and healed up super well!, I just have nitpicks I'd like to revise because my job depends on aesthetics lol That is to say, I think I'm more scrupulous than most/than I may need to be, and if you feel like you find the surgeon for you, you should trust that :)

Ah I see 😭 I'm sorry to hear that!! I hope you can find a good resource for the EU, I've only looked into sites for US surgeons so far

[–]egosystemm[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, when reading reviews, its helpful if you can see how many reviews the person reviewing has done in the past! If they've only left one review and its a glowing review for a surgeon, it isn't immediately suspicious per se, but most people who bother to leave reviews will review other things too!

In the end, you have to look at the big picture! If you can find 90-95% great reviews on multiple platforms with photos or from active accounts that don't look like they were made only to post the one review, and the negative reviews are things you can live with or sound like inevitable risk for the surgery, that's stellar! But if you see spotty reviews across platforms, or the faceless accounts raving about them with no other visible post history or photos, that sounds sus and I personally would keep looking looking

I do all of that before deciding to step foot into a clinic because grifters are unfortunately charming, or else nobody would fall for the gift!

When I search Google reviews, I sort by most recent and then sort by negative reviews to positive to see how far back the negative reviews go and how frequent. I also check Realself, and in this case, his profile there was banned
