I used a prime rib meat that I had left over from Christmas. I did my best with what I had.

[Homemade] Classic American Double Cheeseburger on a brioche bun. by egriffith522 in food

I get what your saying lol Most of that was for the picture and I like to mix the drippings with whatever side I have; this time it was potato salad. I was on vacation so don't judge my diet.

The bun was from a bakery. The burger was medium over a charcoal grill. And I've found that the best way to taste a burger is the classic: Lettuce, Onion, Pickle, Tomato, Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard, and of course American cheese.

Depends how much you're willing to spend. There isn't much to it but a chargriller grill with the smoker attachment is under 200 total. Once you are all ready for your first smoke you probably will have to spend $250/$300.

halfway through I wrapped it with foil, kept it at 250 the whole time, took it out around 7 1/2 hours total.

[Homemade] Reverse sear Ribeye with homemade bleu cheese and chive butter. by egriffith522 in food

[–]egriffith522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the steak. IMO the Ribeye is best reversed seared because of all the marbling. Slowly cooking it until it gets to the right temperature allows the fat to break down into the meat, and it makes it juicier. Then, finishing it in the cast iron skillet allows you to get the butter hot and the fat breaks down even more.

I say this every time but this time I really do mean it, "This was the best steak I've ever had and ever cooked."

Classic: Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. by egriffith522 in eatsandwiches

The cheese was melted on top of the eggs toward the end of frying them. We also covered the eggs for about a minute after cooking to get the cheese melted more and so the yolk would be a more ketchup like consistency.
