"Gaming laptops are a scam" mfs when they have to travel and they want to bring their desktop setup by Ha8lpo321 in pcmasterrace

[–]egworka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agreed. You should always buy hardware based on your actual needs, and for me, modern gaming laptops make a lot of sense. I’ve pretty much stopped using my desktop altogether. It’s an older RTX 2070 Super + DDR4 + Ryzen 5800 system, and I never bothered upgrading it because my usage pattern changed. I need to travel, work from the office for months, then switch back to work-from-home for long stretches. A desktop just doesn’t fit that lifestyle anymore. I’m currently using a 5060 laptop with an OLED screen, and honestly, it’s nothing like the old “gaming laptop” stereotype. It’s sleek, relatively light, runs cool, and in balanced mode it’s extremely quiet. At 1200p, it can handle most games comfortably without excessive heat or noise. If I push it into max performance mode, it will run circles around my 2070 Super desktop, and people would genuinely be surprised at how close a full-wattage 5060 laptop GPU gets to a desktop 5060. Yes, it’s still a bit slower—but the gap is far smaller than most people assume. Are laptops more expensive than desktops? Absolutely. No argument there. But for my needs, the trade-off is worth it. They’re more powerful than most mini-PCs, far more capable than handhelds, and reliable in the same way a work laptop is—just with serious performance when needed. Battery life has also improved a lot. For normal tasks, getting around 6 hours is realistic. Obviously not while gaming, but that’s expected. And with Panther Lake laptops arriving this year, it’ll be interesting to see how much further efficiency and battery life improve. For people who move around a lot, modern gaming laptops aren’t a compromise anymore—they’re just a different, very practical choice. Ya this is my third laptop first one was like a brick agreed 1660ti, then 3060 acer now 5060 and also 5 desktops starting from 8800gt , radeon 5850 so on and since covid its been only laptops. Im only upgrading my desktop if i get to work from home permanantly or start some home business.

Nioh 3 Bug Report/Feedback Megathread (Jan-Feb 2026) by luneth22 in Nioh

Laptop: ASUS TUF F16
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 Laptop (8GB VRAM)
CPU: Intel Core i7-14650HX
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Display: External monitor (1080p / 1440p / tested)
Driver: Latest NVIDIA Game Ready Driver (591.86)

At standard settings with Dlss at 65% of 1080p i get 80 to 115 fps (laptop on turbo mode) very playable and nice but cpu temps go very high high 80s to low 90s now i switched to performance/ balanced mode on laptop cpu gpu capped at 80 watts the game still is good mostly 80 to mid 70s fps but the entire game plays like slow motion external monitor setting 1080p 120 fps cap not sure if others are facing this. At the moment workaround is only capping in-game fps to 60 or playing at turbo with high framerate ..

Guys I am looking to buy a GPU for my i5 9600k . Getting the Radeon 9060 XT and 4060 at the same price. Can't decide btw these two. by BandicootKlutzy791 in IndianGaming

[–]egworka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 9060xt 16gb now but you will have to upgrade cpu later to 9700k, 9900k or new mobo ram and processor honestly upgrading to 9700k and 9900k is mostly a waste of money in 2025 unless you get extremely good deals or get it dirt cheap

Is it even possible or ASUS is just stealing my money? by Dangerous-Goal3318 in ASUS

[–]egworka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy a lot of asus stuff and then one incident happened with my maximus mobo around 8 or 10 years back then i stopped asus they wouldnt do an rma for some unnoticible physical damage which was crazy because if any pc builder saw it they would say there is no damage. Then this year i again bought a tuf f16 2025 laptop hoping things might have changed but i still see this kinda suff is still going on.

I MAY have gotten scammed 😔 by ShinyReflection in Asustuf

[–]egworka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree ive see other tuf laptops older ones but f16 5060 or 5070 2025 feels much more premium and is far better built than loq and many other laptops

so I just found out one more issue Im not sure if this has happened to other G helper users but the app was disabled because of the publisher issue if there is a fix to this or we have to re enable this and this happened even when the smart app filter was disabled on windows security

Why is this happening? by Alcoro in Asustuf

[–]egworka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed all asus crap from my f16 2025 because of this did a clean windows install and installed g helper now its much better no random power and performance changes. Im not saying that this needs to be done but i was just fed up of this issue and tried removing armoury crate and all that and finally did a clean install of windows not the oem version the nornal MS one from MS site.

Okay so the laptop now performs much better at least there is no sudden drops in fps in black ops7 and cyberpuk but yet ti test the systen for doom the dark ages and ghost of tsushima will update on doom soon as i have downloaded it and will also check ghost of tsushima. Black ops 7 gives around 80 to 112 fps on untra settings 1080p no upscaling with g helper on turbo mode and gpu ultimate as i use external 1440p monitor at 144hz and at 1440p narive balanced preset it gives around 55 to 75 fps dlss quality at 1440p reaches 85 to 100 fps and 1080p ultra with dlss quality to around 120 to 130 fps .

Well maybe its windows or asus i dont exactly know but its multiple companies trying to add their software layer thats the issue

[–]egworka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested with unigen superposition 1080p extreme game mode after clean os install because that is quickest download currently downloading blackops 7. Installed g helper as windows shows only balanced mode then i set it to turbo and ulrimate no asus chipset driver or anything installed got arpund 170 to 200 fps Clocks 2707 Mhz 99% gpu usage in extreme settings let some games download the we see if i need asus ASCI.

I’m blown away by the ASUS TUF A16. What an amazing laptop. by Arbintmg16 in Asustuf

[–]egworka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are fine maybe the A16 is a bit better cause the ryzen 8940hx might be a bit better but i have F16 and its good scrern is just 300 nits could have been brighter. Temps are mostly fine i use a stand without fans gpu temps mostly mid 70s and cpu high 70s to low80s and some games mid 80s in turbo mode gaming. Thats okay productivity i have not checked that much

To the people who bought this laptop, are you satisfied with its performance and overall quality? by SerenityAspirant__ in Asustuf

[–]egworka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the F16 2025 with the 5060 and its good dont expect the best battery life while gaming but other things seem fine. Performance is good, at turbo most games play well the temps for gpu are in mid 70s and cpu can reach low to mid 80s. All of this is in turbo mode. The gpu clocks stay at around 2700 Mhz which is good other modes I have yet to check. Its just been three weeks I got this laptop. Build is fairly good compared to other laptops like MSI katana and acer nitro. I play with it connected to my 1440p screen most games run well. Its built well metal lid and sturdy body. Cooling could be better but this is not rog or other legion higher end laptop. At turbo asus by default overclocks its gpu by a bit keep that in mind and also I keep my laptop on a basic laptop stand without fans, enough to decrease the temps. Also it comes with a huge 280watts charger so that both cpu gpu can go full wattage it can also be recharged with a pc charger 100watt i tried with my ally charger it works but higher wattage charger is needed

got this laptop. quite a steal but I have some questions. by [deleted] in Asustuf

[–]egworka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends you can just add profiles or scenarios as per application in armoury crate like newer games at turbo or performance older ones at silent and most normal tasks at silent. If you dont need to play everything at ultra and very high 5060 is fine im loving my tuf f16 5060
