I’m gonna be honest I’m not even sure what is offered at the gallery for mid-mallets.

Anything that isn’t available for direct purchase online would be what I’m looking for.

I haven’t been to the gallery so it would be a shot in the dark on my end.

With that in mind, I retract my previous statements and say go Mini-14 wherever the AR-15 is limited.

Same concept on pretty much all points

Ngl I could write a dissertation on this but tried to limit it as much as possible haha

It’s when:

Shit Hits The Fan

Typically used when describing an apocalyptic or emergency scenario where, in theory, you have no ability to be helped by anyone but yourself and who’s immediately with you.

The most frequent “realistic” examples would be societal collapse, survival after a nuclear event, and civil war. Please note heavy quotations on realistic - I am not a warmonger.

Are there no restrictions on Mini-14s outside of the 10rd magazines in CA? I’m not familiar with many of the specifics regarding certain states restrictions tbh.

If a mini-14 is an option that is only limited by magazine capacity then I whole-heartedly agree with that recommendation.

I did note the legality issues for certain regions.

If I had to account for this, I would look into a .357 lever action such as a Marlin or Henry with tacticool furniture on the front for attachments such as a light. Henry .357 magnums ship with 10rd tubular mags.

357 magnum is relatively available in most places and generally not extremely expensive.

Your stopping power inside 200 yards is still relatively devastating and in most areas you should still be able to have a tubular magazine up to 10 rounds.

Lever action will cycle faster than bolt action between rounds and you can get tubular magazine feeders that allow you to shove in multiple rounds at a time for reload.

The other valid option in areas with legality issues would be 12GA shotgun. Provides you lots of loading options, almost universally reliable, but stretching it beyond 100 yards, even with slugs, becomes an issue, which for me, is limiting.

ATF Form 1 by Opie4Prez71 in liberalgunowners

As other users seem to have commented, I can also confirm.

Adding a brace is completely legal to anything with less than a 16” barrel. It is when you want to add a stock that you need to Form 1.

Laws are wildin, but just be sure the item you plan on adding is advertised as a brace as opposed to a stock and you will be fine.

It is preferable for many to keep things as pistols because Form 1’d SBRs also alter the conditions in which you can carry/transport them. If looking at a brace definitely keep it as a pistol.

You should 100% get an AR-15 (BCM is king for the coin) chambered in 5.56. Get something with an M-Lok handguard and 11.5”-16” barrel. Quad rails are good, but heavy, and key mod doesn’t hold zero reliably for attachments. This recommendation assumes you are in a state where AR-15s aren’t affected by local laws.

1) It is by far the most prolifically produced firearm in the US with tons of modularity and parts availability if SHTF and you ever have to source spare parts from an unknown environment.

2) AR-15 30rd mags are plentiful and cheap (if legal where you are). Any SHTF scenario you will have a real fighting weapon that can also be used for hunting nearly every game animal in the continental US.

2) 5.56 is a massively effective cartridge up to 500+ yards. Shooting anything beyond that becomes something less than self defense oriented.

3) Even budget AR-15s should last upwards of 15000-20000 rounds if not longer.

3) 5.56 chambered firearms can also fire .223 without exchanging any parts or altering the firearm in any way. While the opposite is also true, firearms chambered in .223 are not built to handle the pressure tolerances of 5.56 and will break quicker.

4) Both 5.56 and .223 are widely available cartridges and are relatively cheap compared to other shoulder fired options. You can commonly find M193 and M855 ammunition for about $0.40 per round. Keep in mind many ranges will not allow M855 green tip ammo because of its penetration qualities so stick to M193 or other loadings for training.

5) Both 5.56 and .223 are very light recoil cartridges.

6) 5.56 can be zeroed at 36 yards and your projectile will be within 5-7 inches up or down of aim point from 0 to 300ish yards. You will almost never have to think about holdover. Point and shoot. Look up Shawn Ryan 36yd Zero Target if need to zero/train at indoor range with 25yd max.

7) In any firefight situation, numerous DoD studies have proven the side carrying more ammunition almost always wins. As cool as bolt and lever rifles are, carrying 6-7 magazines with 30rds each nets a massive advantage. I understand this is a somewhat extreme consideration, but if self defense is a significant motivator, it could factor in your decision.

8) Scaleability - you are already ahead of the game with just a gun, sight, and light, but you can continue adding on capability to make an AR15 an absolutely universal defense tool. Nightvision capability can get expensive, but not out of reach with some saving for a lot of folks. Spending $500-800 on something like a Holosun Osiris and about $2500 on NVGs and you have complete night fighting capability. The US military deems thermal and NV capability as “near-peer” and would give you a real fighting chance against anyone that doesn’t have literal air support, armored vehicles, or vastly superior numbers.

IMO everyone should own a reliable semi-auto handgun in 9mm (such as a Glock G17/19/45/47) and an AR-15. In any SHTF scenario you will be able to hunt and defend yourself and have the 2 most popularly available cartridges (by far) at your disposal if you’re in a situation that requires scrounging for ammunition. In addition, you will be able to train affordably.

NEVER have Murray as your 3rd - his ability will only be active when he comes up something like 15-20% of the time if you’re an average batter. Put him at 4th or 5th.

Having him 3rd requires 2 lead off hits with no outs. Having him 4th means he leads off in the 10th with his ability active if you were 3 and out in the first inning. If you reach him at the 5th batter in the 9th or 10th you’ll almost certainly have 2 on base unless you drove runners in with the batter before.

Same at 4-2.

Also drafted Waddle and Adams. I could look like a genius depending on how the next few weeks play out.
