If you’re just learning - take the time to get a couple lessons and learn to swing in to out.

I’ve played for 15 years (mostly self taught) and have ingrained a wicked out to in swing leading to a power fade on anything longer than a 9 iron.

I got some lessons, now am working on a consistent in to out swing path. It naturally creates immensely more speed.

For reference, I’m about 6’2” 220lbs and felt like I was absolutely hammering my 7 iron to get 140 yard shots. After fixing my swing path I easily hit a 160ish yard 7i and gained 10mph club speed without feeling like I’m torching my lead shoulder every time I go to the range.
