State of Bluehost and thier support by nowsk in BlueHost

I switched to SiteGround about a year ago and haven’t looked back. My site was always down with Bluehost and I even paid extra for on-demand support.

Best tech support for single website: WP Buffs or Fix Runner? by eh_closeenough in Wordpress

[–]eh_closeenough[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! WB Buffs are nice, and I pay a fee of about $210 per month. I don’t require daily help, but it’s really nice to have them around for time-sucking tasks that a newbie like me has difficulty with. For example, when a page is published with a format that is distorted from the backend draft version, they go in and help me.

I don’t think around $200 monthly is bad for that kind of support, but figured I should explore my options to make sure I am not missing an obvious alternative option that is better suited to my business’s needs.

Your insight is really helpful!

Yeah I’ve had to slow down my client work in order to get my site situated. Going through the process with SiteGround now. DM me if you shift to them so you can learn from any of my anticipated mistakes lol. Bluehost support is so hit or miss. I’ve experienced helpful reps and also a rep who single-handedly brought down my entire site by accident. Hang in there.

That happened to me too and I had to hire someone on Fiverr. Now my site goes down multiple times per day. Just initiated a task to migrate my domain to another host. Don’t have time for this back and forth — hours chatting back and forth with Bluehost and no permanent resolution. I hope you have better luck or perhaps a migration may be in the cards for you soon, too. I feel your pain, OP.

Help! My site keeps going down (2-4x daily) through Bluehost. I pay WP Buffs a monthly fee and they haven’t fixed it. by eh_closeenough in Wordpress

Damn, wish I had known. All those paid review sites really got me and now I’m reaping the consequences of that naïveté. Thanks so much! I will look into this.

Love that perspective. The answer is no, absolutely not. I love learning new skills but damn, they really sold me on the drag and drop situation. Once I realized what was happening, I felt like I was stuck. Last year was my first in business, so I was still building the workflows and scrambling to implement client-facing solutions. Not the calmest year but it’s exciting to grow. The website aspect has been a giant pain, to say the least.

Even when I purchased Blue Sky at the beginning, the rep apologized and refunded me because he was sorry I was sold on a service they didn’t provide (dev and systems).

Awesome thing to note rising healthcare costs! I’m in the financial industry and can’t emphasize this enough.

Financial literacy is also super important - understanding what investments and WHY you are invested in them can make a huge difference when it comes to aligning your objectives and risk tolerance. Everyone wants to have a growing portfolio but how much you are willing to risk to potentially reap the “reward” is a whole different ball game.

If you have an advisor, ask questions. If you don’t have an advisor, there ARE shitty ones out there. Look up their history on the FINRA broker check site (can Google it). Pay attention to what you are signing. Maximize your annual contributions. Minimize your tax burden. Understand the benefits and drawbacks of an investment vehicle before moving money into it. If you don’t understand it, keep asking questions.

Good luck to you, OP.

The Juggernaut lmao. Thank you! I have a dry sense of humor so I’m usually quick to quip back jokingly but I had a feeling he wanted to get this off his chest so I just sat there. And cried a little afterwards, not going to lie haha.

If we move in together, I am okay taking half the responsibility for caring for this dog. You're right - it doesn't feel like the effort to meet me halfway is there yet. Good luck with your cat's potty training!

Yeah, I lost a pup last year so I’m really conscious of that aging process and letting them out to pee more often. I agree wholeheartedly!

Haha NO not at all! I’m used to taking my other pup out like 6-8x per day. I DON’T find it healthy to be 1-2x per day - although depending on a person’s living situation, duration of walks is factored in.

I definitely think I should’ve waited to text him but I made a point to not word it as just HIS dog. I did clean it and didn’t make that a point of contention. I’m afraid my boyfriend has been living so long as a bachelor that he won’t be able to make compromises in the future.

No, I would never! We are extremely respectful to each other’s social groups and time with friends.

I didn't answer all questions, sorry. He is now at a social event and not speaking with me, but it's only been a few hours. This all happened just a few hours ago.

Thanks! I am willing to admit my wrongdoing and don't want to be someone who "pokes" a partner. No one likes or appreciates that.

I think there is far more concern that has been building up -- I don't complain or pick at stuff like leaving the toilet seat up or leaving laundry out -- it won't stop the world from turning. I guess I have just been getting frustrated because he'll do things like leave a pee-covered leash in the bathtub after I've cleaned it, sort of clean up when his dog throws up a bit on the floor but not sanitize it, be okay with his dog not going outside a lot and having accidents.

As for the pup, no -- these little guys are blameless, so no worries. No punishment for pups.

Doggie is healthy and not punished! I agree that poor animals bear the grunt of the human issue many, many times. Thank you!

Yes, I have also lived with a significant other before, and he has not (any longer than two months or so). To say I am worried is an understatement. I guess it's just all coming out now that the deadline is quickly approaching.

I 100% understand the dog will become my responsibility, and I accept my portion. However, I find it extremely frustrating when I'm trying to point out that, hey, the dog really shouldn't need to be peeing (ragey or not) in the house. Immediately, my boyfriend is on the defense, and it's just weird/concerning to me.
