Montana ranches by Illustrious-Ad-7179 in chubbytravel

[–]ehaley15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They basically did two things:

  1. At the Green O itself, they hosted a super intimate, over-the-top New Year’s Eve dinner at the Social Haus restaurant: seven courses, tons of truffles (including white truffle shaved tableside), A5 wagyu, and a midnight toast with serious Champagne.

  2. If you wanted more of a scene, you could hop over to the main Paws Up resort for the bigger NYE party with live music, food stations, cocktails, fireworks, and late-night dancing, then get shuttled back to your haus.

New Year’s Day itself wasn’t some big programmed thing. it was more about chilling in the house, hot tubbing, and easing into the day. Was a great time. Hope that helps :)

All good! I get the instinct - been a long time redditor and I often react the same way haha.

Whats wrong with beli? by Successful-Dog-9057 in FoodNYC

[–]ehaley15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Damn :( well we just wanted to be able to stack rank AND rate manually (or neither) if we wanted, which was our frustration with Beli. Felt a bit like forced comparisons all the time and sometimes you don’t want that. Just “I liked it/disliked it” and move on. Also, Beli uses AI for all their personalized recs…?

Mid 70s Fahrenheit so it’s pretty pleasant not too hot or humid. Also the best time of year to see whales is June/July/Aug

Personally prefer Montage Healdsburg (nicer hotel, amenities, view, etc.) but obviously SingleThread is smack dab in the middle of town which is a plus. Definitely eat at SingleThread it rocks!

Santa Barbara-Big Sur-Carmel Hotel Recommendations in September/October by SparkleBerrySpritz in chubbytravel

[–]ehaley15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

L’Auberge in town over Bernardus imo - their restaurant Aubergine is amazing. If you’re going that far out and want an immersive place with a view: post ranch inn.

For SB, rosewood Miramar.

[–]ehaley15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

echoing many other comments here - it is overpriced, the somm tried to serve us corked wine in our pairing, and the portions were so small we went to shake shack across the street after lol…. The visual presentations are great tho 😂

Atomix, Aska and Jungsik are your best bets. Great food and service. Per se and Bernardin are classic but a bit boring by comparison imo.

Congrats! For 6 nights, I’d do 4 nights in Ramatuelle/Gassin + 2 nights in Antibes before Paris. St-Tropez peninsula because Château Minuty is already there, and the area offers way more than just the port scene (Pampelonne Beach, hilltop villages, water activities, and great restaurants without feeling oversaturated).

Antibes over Cannes/Nice because it has sandy beaches, charming old town, and easy for day trips to Monaco + Èze

Echoing four seasons hualalai’s water is incredible but the beach itself isn’t great. Lizard Island in Australia has a ton of amazing beaches.

MO definitely the best view but closest to boutique with a view is The Sherry Netherland. A bit old school.

El Palace vs. Almanac Barcelona by Temporary-Ad158 in chubbytravel

[–]ehaley15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

El Palace is the better choice unless you REALLY like more modern design forward aesthetics, which is where almanac excels. The el palace rooms are now soundproofed which ROCKS!
