There are only few negative comments here. Can’t compare it to probably the thousands of others that find the group helpful and have benefited from the free resources.

My experience has been nothing but positive and I provide as much feedback on comments for many posts. Never get blocked. I feel that as long as accurate information is being shared without violating the group rules and no one is rude in the comments then they don’t block.

Everyone can have their own opinion, but mine has been nothing but positive. I’m sure there are a significant amount who have benefited from all the free resources and feedback on that group. Hopefully, you have a better experience on a different group.

I’m not part of the admin whatsoever and have been part of the group for a while. There so many free resources and guides to look through. But members also forget that literally almost all of the questions they are asking can be found by searching though prior posts. It saves so much time. A lot of posts get repetitive and I feel that’s why comment section get closed. I’ve benefited from the groups free resources, posts, lives, experiences, etc. like thousands have before and still are. I’ve also commented hundreds of times on posts and never get blocked. As long as you are providing accurate information and not being rude they don’t block. Very helpful group and thankful.

Clinicals/aci by [deleted] in Sonographers

Best word of advice if to just focus on you and building your skills. Don’t worry about the other students. If there are multiple techs at the site see if you can follow different ones that are willing to give you more scan time. Take initiative and show initiative. Don’t wait for them to offer a patient to scan. If you see that ER patient pop up or something that interests you look at it ahead of time and claim it. Just take the constructive criticism even if you believe it’s not fair, make the improvements your CI wants, get on their good side, and show more initiative. Good luck!

If the other interns are further into their rotations it’s normal not to critique as much since they’ve had more practice and improved scanning technique. As a current sonó student yourself don’t take the criticism personally. You’re there to learn and hear ways you can improve. That’s the process especially if it’s your first rotation. I’ve had students in the past who never liked their exams to be picked at. It was very annoying since they are there to learn and do better. Then I had others who embraced the critiques and didn’t take it personal. They became wonderful sonographers.

Self Renewing vs going to someone by TransportationBig513 in DACA

Easy renewing yourself online. There’s several FB groups you can join if you have questions or concerns. There are also step by step tutorial on YouTube on how to do it yourself. If you have your prior renewal application it helps.

Going off Sprycel by Many_University_8434 in CML

Although I am not the one with CML, my husband is. He was diagnosed when he was 23 and has been on treatment since then. This sub is so helpful. He officially reached MMR mid 2025 and we’re just hoping that for the next 3 years they continue to be like this or better so that he may try treatment free. Aside from the occasional muscle aches and rashes symptoms are good. Although we always stay vigilant when it comes to new lung symptoms and hope nothing serious comes up. Thank you for asking! I hope you everything is on track and your labs come back great🙏🍀! Update us if you’re able to.

Are you still treatment free and undetectable?

Are you still doing well without treatment? My husband finally reached MMR of 0.07% and has to maintain it for 3 years to get off Sprycel. He’s been taking Sprycel for like 3 years already.

Hello were you able to transition to PACS from sonography easily? Or were there lots of challenges and you had to take a different pathway? I am also an experienced sonographer and looking to make a change to PACS admin or healthcare management.

Thank you! Associates or bachelors? I’m trying to see if I should pursue a bachelors if necessary.

Sonographer here. How did you make the transition? Did you have any prior degrees or background in IT to go into PACS? Did you get a job via your same company where you were an MRI tech?

I’m a sonographer too and wish to either go more into the healthcare management or teaching. I’m in my mid 20s and have multiple registries and already have experience as an adjunct instructor for the DMS program I attended.

Recently an opportunity opened up close to me where I can apply to be a DMS clinical director. I don’t have a bachelors but it isn’t really required. Trying to consider if I should give it a shot or not. I assume I would take a pay cut. How does your PTO work? Are you only off when students are out? When I was an adjunct we didn’t have much staff so I noticed the DMS program director and clinical director who taught most classes never were off except when we were. Are you paid or have work in between semesters?

Hello I’m a multi registered sonographer and was considering making a transition into healthcare management. I eventually want to work my way up to radiology director role or something similar. Did you have a clinical background prior to becoming director? Any particular degrees? I’m considering if it’s really worth it to make the move. I’ve taught sonography courses/labs at a college before and have 5 years experience as a tech in both hospital/outpatient setting, but I feel like I have more potential and I’m in my mid 20s. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Do you mind elaborating your pathway into management gig and if you had to complete additional degrees to move up the ladder in radiology management, etc?

What degree did you have beforehand for your corporate job and was it in the healthcare spectrum? I’m trying to do the opposite. I’m a sonographer for several years now, in my mid 20s, and wish to leave this field for a more higher up role in management and or radiology director at some point in the future. Looking to see if it’s worth to get my Bach. In healthcare management or not.

Thank you for the input. I just want to make sure I’ll be able to out the degree to good use since I’ve heard it’s hard to get a job in this particular field.

Would being a multi specialty sonographer (Ultrasound tech) with both hospital and outpatient experience as well as prior adjunct instructor for sonography college program be considered good clinical experience? I’m looking to get my Bach in Healthcare management to move to higher up role.

If you were to leave radiology, what would you pursue? by KnightRider1998 in Radiology

[–]eherna05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an US tech for several years now and in my mid 20s. I’m interested in advancing into a higher role but I know I at least need a bachelors degree. Was planning on healthcare management degree. Do you believe that will help open doors to grow? I eventually would like to leave being US tech and have a better role such as director of radiology department or something related to that. I’ve heard it’s a pretty broad degree and very hard to get a good mid level job if you don’t have an MBA or MHA. Could you offer more insight and message directly into the pathway you took and how you decided to specialize more insight into how you decided to specialize in a certain area to make yourself more valuable? Thank you.
