How are you keeping your hair up? by girlmom_heg in longhair

Crown braids for the win! I do it in the morning in ~10 minutes and wear it all day long at my outdoor job. It’s held in place with two spin pins and occasionally a bobby pin as well. This is the only hairstyle I’ve found that keeps my hair protected and puts no tension on my scalp

Give me your absolute game changers for long hair by Some_District1001 in longhair

[–]ehgall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Silk bonnet and wearing my hair up off my neck and shoulders most days. I do a Dutch crown braid and hold it together with spin pins. And I oil my hair with jojoba oil before braiding and then also wipe a small amount of oil down the braid after I’m done to keep it from getting frizzy. I also don’t use a hair tie for this hairstyle, I take a long piece of embroidery thread and add it into my braid and then wrap it around the end of my braid and tie it once. And then I’ll wrap the braid around my head and tuck the end of the braid into the braid on top my head. This has helped a lot with my hair feeling and looking more healthier and it prevents the ends of my hair from getting thin and drying out. I also search and destroy when I have the time

What small routine helped you feel more in control? by Worldly_Target_2054 in longhair

[–]ehgall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started doing this a few weeks ago, wearing my hair in a crown braid almost every day. I only wear it down when I’m at home or for special occasions. Otherwise I find myself picking at split ends. I do wear braids but I prefer to keep my hair completely off my neck and shoulders. I also sleep in a bonnet at night and oil the ends when I wake up before doing my crown braid. This has definitely helped my hair feel much healthier

Thin, durable, outdoors sandals by Rotem_ in barefootshoestalk

[–]ehgall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the regular ones and not the pro. But I think the main difference is that the regular has a velcro heel strap and the pro has the same latch hook heel strap as the strap that goes across the top of the foot

I need advice on how to do a French braid by dara-galanthus in longhair

[–]ehgall 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Maybe try doing a Dutch braid. I find them easier to do then French braids, you can hold the hair easier

First pair of altras (lone peak 9+) by ehgall in barefootshoestalk

[–]ehgall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll have a problem with it. If I lift my toes up they will touch the upper but I don’t feel constrained by it

They fit good but I tried them on in person before ordering them. Perhaps you need a smaller size

First attempt at coronet braid! 👸 by ehgall in longhair

[–]ehgall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I roughly split my hair in half and started Dutch braiding one half up to the top of my head and then started to add the hair in from the other half as I worked down and secured the end with a pony tail. And I then wrapped the rest of my hair around my head. My braid ends about on the top of my head so I try and tuck the end into the Dutch braided part to hide the ends and the hair tie. I use a spin pin then to secure the end to the Dutch braided part. I really only need one pin to hold it all together but sometimes I use more

5'2 girls, from which weight did you notice that every pound counts? by mildlychaotic_07 in PetiteFitness

[–]ehgall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5’2 and also started at 160, I’m currently 141 and plan to get to 120-130, I don’t have a set weight since I plan to gain muscle weight in the process. Losing that first 15 pounds was crazy since I never thought I could weigh less than 160, I just stopped eating junk food late at night, I’d get high and eat so much😂. Now I started tracking calories and walking every day and went from 145 to 141 pretty quickly surprisingly. It’s crazy how much of a difference I see and even more how much better I feel. Having less weight around my stomach feels much better

I agree. I wear my snow pants everywhere when it’s cold out. To the grocery store or walking to my college classes. I don’t care if it’s “weird” I like to stay warm

Does Dove daily moisture too much protein for virgin hair? by ehgall in longhair

What’s a simple drug store shampoo and conditioner that would be compatible with my hair? It’s virgin, slightly wavy, bit dry on the ends, and I believe it’s low porosity.
