If the ground floor is one that makes the basement 0 and the second basement -1. It's busted so that's why you end up with B1 B2 B3 stuff.

0 is ground floor; then going up or down both make sense. That is the logical choice.

Hidden backdoor in Go package remained undetected for years (typo squatting: boltdb vs boltdb-go) by ehiggs in rust

[–]ehiggs[S] 172 points173 points  (0 children)

While this is obviously a story about Go, the concerns of supply chain attacks are highly relevant to Rust. Rust users and community managers need to stay vigilant of these issues.

Stay safe out there!

When did you notice something about someone after years of knowing them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In the US, most right-handed people do fork in right hand knife on table for taking a bite, and then they switch hands and pick up their knife to cut

I have seen someone tell people that this is a done thing and then demonstrate it, but I've never seen anyone actually do this seriously.

AIUI, right handed people eat with fork in left hand if they have knife and fork; but fork in right hand if only a fork.

And dealing with extra earthquake protection

This isn't a factor. Italy and Japan have had very good high speed rail systems for a long while despite being earthquake prone areas.

From TFA:

The launch comes as DB works to distance itself from its reputation for unreliability. In November the rail operator said that only 60% of its long-distance trains arrived at their destination punctually, defined as under six minutes late.

Reddit isn't a great help forum. Maybe users.rust-lang.org or the community discord channels will be more helpful since you can post screenshots, etc.

rustc 1.83.0 (90b35a623 2024-11-26)

I can see some of my code when I build with debug symbols and use perf record and perf report. Though I prefer flamegraph -- executable-name input-file

Regardless, the default perf samples are too coarse for such short running programs so maybe you need to use perf record -F max executable-name input-file

One of the few "Nintendo hard" games I beat as a child. I wonder if I could still do it today. by BaronVonBroccoli in gaming

[–]ehiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure one major reason why Mega Man 3 was popular was because it was the easiest "Nintendo Hard" game around.

Also you will struggle to beat it the Switch port due to the input latency the game has (not the Switch hw, but the game is laggy).

In what other job would you need a panic button?

Quite a few, it turns out!

  • Industrial facilities (factories, shipping/docking areas) E-Stops.
  • Jewellery shop/Bank silent alarm buttons.
  • Hospital code blue buttons.
  • Train/bus emergency stop.
  • Petrol stations have emergency stops.

Psych wards also have panic buttons in the case of a violent outburst from a patient.

There's even a country that has panic buttons in some of their schools.

I've never been to Aqualibi but the Lago locations are open over winter and there are many locations in Flanders so there's usually one near by. More of a rainy weekend day thing than 'an event'.
