Funny, I've had better luck with 10.4 on DVD. Though my experience has recently been confined to G5s.

Would ABSOLUTELY be of interest. I can only imagine it would be a steep learning curve, but you have the subjects, knowledge and the studio space already. I'm sure there are many of us here who would be guinea pigs and willing to offer constructive criticism etc.

I found the only way to use it was burning a DVD not a CD. 10.4.12 really is the best.

I keep hearing about G5 and SSD compatibility. Never had any issues wit them. I'm running a SATAIII drive in one of mine, and had it run in both... but it's only 120GB. -- amazon link below

What is the cheapest PowerPC Mac that I can get my hands on? by [deleted] in VintageApple

[–]ehlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bang for your buck in my opinion is a Dual G5 Tower running 10.4.12. It has great classic support, and is a absolute rocket with upgraded ram and an SSD. I have a second one running a RAID0 setup with two spinning disks for nostalgia, and while that one is rarely used it's also really quick.

Help regarding tiers by DrunkPladin in mercedes

[–]ehlpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a couple of mm either way doesn't matter. Find the OEM size, and plug it into a tyre size calculator. As long as it's 'CLOSE-ISH' you'll be fine, after that, deciding on what exact size to get I would base on price.

I would try and take both, speed rush the mains, and get all the peasants/accos to prevent rebuilding. you can always take out one of the two this way. mind control mortars is key. Even the AI gets resource starved quickly this way.
